Chapter 15: Dread

Chapter 15 is here~ I don't own cardfight vanguard~

I'm suffering from lack of anime..... Suggestions? (Besides cardfight vanguard and sports anime)

The brunette felt panicked when he watched Aichi pass out, for he was fearful that it was from blood loss, he had only been talking to the boy properly not too long ago.

He wondered what would have happened if the pain killers hadn't worn off, hence the warning of trouble never noticed.

The brunette was tempted to call for help, yet he didn't for he knew that the person who came would probably just go run and grab a blood bag like Shinko had left to do.

"You're about the only one I'd go through this much stress for...."

Kai murmured as he poked the unconscious boy's cheek. A few minutes later, Shinko returned with a few bags of blood and plasma, jades watched the blond doctor hook them up to the blue haired boy.

"I can still use the light to look at the parasite even though he's unconscious"

The blond doctor sighed as he pulled out another machine and switched it on and made it hang over the young boy, completely ignoring the brunette's presence.

Once the machine was on, Shinko flipped on a switch on a nearby monitor and a picture of a weird clump moving around was on the screen, it wasn't easy to see, however the brunette guessed that the image had of course been magnified quite a bit.

"Already that much damage......"

Shinko muttered as he placed the time once again inside of the younger's mouth, this time leaving it there to suck up small traces of blood here and there.

Shinko called a nurse to bring even more blood and plasma bags, the brunette guessed that it was just to be safe.

"I've only seen this thing once before..... I'll have to remove it manually......"

The blond doctor muttered as he grabbed a scalpel, Kai tensed and bumped into something making the doctor notice him.

"I forgot you were here..... Please leave"

The brunette nodded quickly and swiftly left the room, for he didn't want to see the doctor cut open Aichi. He couldn't believe that something like this had been happening. He had thought that a few antibiotics were all that were needed to flush out the parasite, oh how mistaken he was.

Once again, the brunette was slumped against the wall outside of the hospital room, forced to wait and see whether or not the blue haired boy would be okay.

He was scared, he wasn't sure how close he was to losing the younger but that didn't matter, even the smallest of possibilities of Aichi being lost to him forever filled him with dread.

"Onodera...... Onodera please......"

Jades looked over towards another hospital room where he heard the voice coming from it sounded so helpless and full of defeat.

"I'm sorry Takano...... but there was nothing that I could have done...."

Kai recognized that voice, it belonged to the raven haired doctor Kusama, he guessed that the person named Onodera had passed away and that Takano person was mourning.

It made the brunette's blood run cold when he thought about himself being in the man's position, losing the one he cared about due to being too helpless to heal him.

He didn't think he could even bare the pain of losing the blue haired boy again, the brunette hugged his knees to his chest and rested his head on his knees, he felt so helpless.

"Kai....."

Jades gazed up and looked up at doctor Shinko, a grim expression was plastered across the doctor's face.

"Yes?....."

The brunette asked as he stood up, he guessed that the time had flown fast due to his many thoughts.

"I have something to tell you......"

The brunette tensed at the doctor's tone, it seemed different than usual, it was void of any emotion.

"Aichi is okay right? Can I see him?"

"..........."

The doctor's silence made fear wedge it's way into the brunette's chest, making him want to see the blue haired boy all the more.

"Wait....... He is okay right?...."

Pity crossed over Shinko's face as he slowly shook his head.

"I'm sorry...... I tried my best..... But his body was already too weak for the procedure...... He didn't make it......"

The brunette froze, he couldn't believe what he had just heard. There was no way that Aichi could have died, not after everything that the boy had suffered through up to this point.

He just couldn't believe that Aichi had survived a car crash, going blind, getting kidnapped only to be raped before escaping, then kidnapped again, losing confidence in himself. Then getting in a plane crash where he suffered injuries and survives a whole four months of loneliness and being in the dark, only to be rescued and soon die afterwards.

That was just plain messed up in the brunette's opinion.

Kai brushed passed Shinko and ran into the hospital room, there was a white blanket cast over the boy's face which Kai quickly removed, the boy looked so peaceful.

"Come on Aichi wake up.... You're just sleeping right?......"

Kai asked as he nudged the boy, however he froze when he felt the younger's skin, it was eerie that it was so cold, it felt so lifeless.

"It's cant be..... It's just not fair...."

The brunette's voice was little more than a whisper as he noticed that the young boy's chest was not rising and falling like it should have been.

"I'm sorry I tried my best....."

Shinko whispered as he placed a hand on the brunette's shoulder, Kai just shook it off and fell to his knees, crossing his arms and resting his head on the bed where his lifeless lover laid.

Warm anguished tears fell from jades as the brunette allowed himself to cry for his love, life wasn't fair, it was just too cruel to the kind boy who had never done anything to deserve such pain.

"Aichi.... I'm so sorry..... I promised to protect you.... I really meant it..... But once again I've failed to do so..... Please forgive me....."

The brunette whispered as he cried softly for his love.

Me: I'm an àss

Miwa: of course you are.....

Kai:....... Aichi I'm so sorry

Miwa: he just got him back too.....

Me: hehe I don't have much to say other than I hope you enjoyed the chappy~
