Match Made by Mistake

Time passed quickly and currently we were sitting in the meeting room brainstorming ideas for our new launch. After the dinner last weekend I distanced myself from Aaron a lot. He didn't notice it as he was busy with the new project. His family works in construction sector and they are top notch in their work. He managed to get their company to be number one in the country in this sector.

Recently they won the contract for a bridge and government villas construction. Sean is handling the interior designing of the villas project. If they succeed in it our companies will get most of the government projects in future. I am hoping on its success too. I also got busy with the new launch so we barely see each other. Just like last time he still sends me messages to remind about lunch and to take care of my health.

"Last winter we released new jackets which were hit in the market" one of our senior team member spoke. "We made the material light and warm enough so it was unique" I read the report they prepared on the last year trend. "I know but we can't do the same again. Market has adapted this type of clothes and there are lots of companies who are making similar products" I agree with Kate. If we want to be the top then we have to be different from others. "We are getting lot of tourists who are in youth this year due to lights festival. Concentrate on that could attract the youth"

This year city planned to prepare light festival in the honor historical event. I am not aware of complete details but they said it's been hundred years that it has happened. "Work with marketing team and prepare few design samples this week. We will have meeting next week at same time"

I closed my eyes as soon as everyone left the room. I hit my shoulders lightly and groaned when I felt the pain. "You have been working without for last two weeks. You should take some rest" I felt Kate sit beside me on the sofa. "I know but we can't slack off at this time. You know that" this is the peak time for our sales so we have lots of work at this time every year. Every year I stay in office for a month this time. "I know that but you are not single anymore. Don't you want to see your husband?"

"No" I cracked one eye open and glanced at Kate. "I already informed him about the rush of work and he said it is fine" he can understand besides he is also a business man so he knows the work. "Fine suit yourself. I brought the models which you asked me for last week" I sat up straight and looked at the iPad she gave me. "I discussed it with their company and they said interior and other details are completely up to us"

We have been working on opening a store in Paris too. Karen said I can decide everything as she trusts my decisions. Still I asked her to send someone from her company who can coordinate with my team. I don't want to be the only one involved when it is collaboration. Kate collected few models for store design. "Did they send anyone from their company?"

"No but that person will be here by evening today" I hummed in reply. "I like this one more" I pointed to third picture. It has plain white walls outside with a large glass window which can display the designs. It is two story store so we can store the clothes in the upstairs which can be used as warehouse. We are just starting it as testing so we won't need a big warehouse there. "I liked it too and this one too" Kate pointed to another one which had baby pink walls outside. It does look good but it might give a feel of girly. So we decided to finalize the white one along with a blue one. We decided to show both to the person who will come then we will decide on final one.

"Are all the orders are delivered?" we decided to go through all the matters one by one. "Yeah, we have yet to deliver Mr. Harrison one" I titled my head in confusion. "I thought it is supposed to be delivered last week" Mr. Harrison is a business man who deals with power and thermo projects. His family has been ordering the limited edition directly from the company since we started. He is a important customer for us.

"He called last week and asked to add winter wear and few limited edition deals. It will be delivered in next month first week" I told her to keep his orders in warehouse carefully. The goods he ordered this time are so pricy. One of them has been embedded with real diamonds and I can't effort to lose them. "I forgot to tell you about it" she slapped her forehead. "You need to talk to warehouse owner too. We made three year contract with them which will end this year"

"That place is near to us so I think it is better to renew the contract" I nodded agreeing with her. I have to make a trip to them soon. I would be little free once we finalize the models for winter. I got up and cracked my neck to ease the pain. "I will make a round over the office" she nodded going back to sorting the documents. I walked out and made my way to admin team.

It isn't a big building but has all the facilities. When I was young I used to walk with dad in his company. I always wanted to start my own and be like him. So when he asked me if I wanted to take over the company with Sean I disagreed. I still have the shares in company but Sean is the sole owner of it now. "Hi everyone" my employees were surprised to see me. "Is everything going on fine?" I sat in one of the vacant chairs and listened to them.

We normally have forecast meetings every financial year beginning and tries to achieve it. We do have monthly meetings with managers of every department but sometimes I take time to meet every employee. I used to sit and talk with five of my colleagues when I started the company. As the time went on strength of the company increased but this habit stayed with me. If I am free I take time to listen to their opinions. It helps in strengthening the employees trust and I can identify problems easily.

"Why didn't you tell so? We could have avoided the rendering cost for it" I listened to their admin team senior executive. "I understand but if I am unavailable you can discuss it with Kate" I told their manager who agreed and apologized for the delay of the problem. "What is your name?" I asked the senior executive who reported the issue. "Paul ma'am"

He seemed like good talent. If I ignored this issue it might have impacted the company. I spoke to them for few more minutes before leaving from there. I was about to make way to Finance team. I had to check if they are updated on all the details but Kate came running to me. "Hey you need to come with me" she seemed little panicked so I followed her wondering what happened to her.

"Hi Lyra, long time no see" the person I least expected stood at the door grinning at me.

Hello readers... It's been so long I have updated but I haven't been feeling well so I took some time out for myself. I will try to update frequently now.
