jungwon

the party was winding down, and i was feeling a mix of exhaustion and exhilaration. the night had been a whirlwind of dancing, laughter, and unexpected moments.

i found myself looking for hyejin, who had disappeared into the crowd a while ago. the misunderstanding between us still lingered in my mind, and i wanted to make things right.

as i wandered through the penthouse, weaving through groups of people, i finally spotted her on the balcony, gazing out at the city lights. she looked so pretty, with her hair catching the soft glow of the night. my heart skipped a beat at the sight of her, and i took a deep breath, mustering the courage to approach her.

"hyejin." i called softly, stepping onto the balcony. she turned to face me, her eyes reflecting a mix of surprise and something else—something deeper.

the cool breeze rustled her hair, and she looked at me, clearly taken aback by my sudden appearance.

"hey, jungwon," she replied, her voice calm but tinged with emotion. "still enjoying the party?"

i nodded, leaning against the railing beside her. "yeah, i mean- it's been fun. but i couldn't stop thinking about our argument earlier."

she sighed, looking down at her hands, fingers fidgeting slightly. "me too. i'm sorry if i got too heated. it's just ... you know how passionate i can get about err, most things."

i smiled, reaching out to gently lift her chin so she would look at me. "i know. and i really, really love that about you, hyejin."

"and i'm sorry too. i didn't mean to dismiss your feelings. i just ... i care about you a lot, and sometimes, i find it hard to express that the right way."

her eyes softened, and for a moment, we just stood there, looking at each other. the city lights twinkled around us, creating a magical backdrop for this moment.

—so, here goes nothing?

"hyejin." i said quietly, my voice barely above a whisper. "there's something i need to tell you."

she raised an eyebrow, a hint of curiosity and a smile playing on her lips. "and what's that?"

i took a step closer, my heart pounding in my chest. "i've been holding something in all night." i confessed, my voice trembling slightly.

she tilted her head, her eyes searching mine. "what is it?"

i took another deep breath, the words catching in my throat. "this." i whispered, and before i could overthink it, i leaned in.

our lips met in a soft, tender kiss that felt like it had been a long time coming. all the pent-up emotions, and the lingering glances culminated in this perfect moment.

i felt her tense up in surprise initially, but then she ended up melting into the kiss, responding with equal tenderness.

the world around us seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of us.

when we finally pulled away, hyejin's eyes were wide, her cheeks flushed. she looked at me, her breath coming in soft, uneven gasps. "jungwon i- ugh-"

i held my breath, waiting for her reaction, feeling a mixture of hope and fear. "i've been wanting to do that for some time now." i admitted, my voice barely a whisper.

she blinked, still looking a bit dazed. "i really wasn't expecting that." she said, her voice shaky. "but i liked it."

i nodded, still feeling the warmth of the kiss on my lips. "i don't usually tell you this, but i agree."
