Excuse any mistakes, i aint perfect.

"Fuck this bar." Monae mumbled low enough for only her coworker to hear as she scanned around at the drunk groups around the room and the men throwing money at the dancers. she sighed and shook her head as she started wiping down her area

"Heard." Her coworker and best friend Dajah mumbled back causing them to chuckle lowly to themselves

"when i told Keem i wanted more hours i meant more hours dancing and making hella tips, not wipin' down counters and gettin people drunk... im too good for this" Monae said referring to one of her bosses, Hakeem. She huffed under her breath and shook her head as she leaned back against the counter, waiting for any orders since everybody in the club was already occupied, whether that be throwing bills and hyping up the dancers, flirting with the bottle girls that basically just walked around for show at this point, to people hanging out with their friend groups and rapping along to the loud music booming throughout the building.

Dajah laughed a little as she was pouring up drinks for her customer "Girl cool, working bar ain't even that bad. if you had self respect you would know that this is way better and easier than putting my ass on a stage and giving these men a show knowing they had a wife and family they had to go home"

Compared to Monae, Dajah was basically her opposite. Monae was the outgoing and and social extrovert while Dajah on the other hand was the responsible, introvert. people around them always wondered how the two were such good friends for so long with such different personalities and being honest, the two always wondered the same thing.

Monae stared at Dajah with a confused look on her face "bitch why do you even work here?" Monae asked causing Dajah to laugh a little more

"Because the pay good and all i have to do is sit and look pretty while i pour some mf a drink. Life can't get no easier than this, it's you who wants to be an extra ass bitch for no reason." Dajah teased and shook her head

Monae scoffed and rolled her eyes teasingly. "Whatever, atleast a bitch having fun" she shrugged
Dajah raised an eyebrow and looked her up and down before chuckling as she took the customers card and tapped the chip against the scanner

"If that's fun.. then fun aint cute on you." Dajah replied in a playfully snarky tone

Monae rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Well that top aint cute on you" she clapped back and raised an eyebrows as well

Dajah handed the card back before looking at monae as if she was dumb "bitch this is uniform, we got the same shit on, so if it don't look good on me, it damn sure don't look better on you"

Monae looked down at her outfit realizing Dajah was right, forgetting that tonight wasn't one of those nights where she could walk around wearing nothing but a thong and a bikini top that was obviously too small for her D cups just for the fun of it. "oh... yeah" she replied in a salty tone before glancing up at Dajah and they both broke out into laughter

"Girl you dumb as hell i swear!" Dajah said between her laughs and Monae laughed as she nudge her "girl i don't know how you be wearing this tacky shit. And who told Demari that stripes were cute. Nigga this ain't footlocker" she scoffed

"Aye whatchu said bout them stripes? Them stripes the only thing keeping you payed shorty" Monae heard a deep smooth voice before following the direction of it and seeing her two bosses, Hakeem and Demari followed by a group of other men who she could only guess were their friends that she always heard about. She glanced around at them talking in their features

"Damn they fine as fuuckkk.." she thought to herself before noticing a tall darkskin man with a natural mug plastered on his face and diamond earrings that blinged brightly under the club lights. Her eyes drifted over to the curvy petite lightskin girl who was clinging to his side and holding on to his thick tatted bicep. The girl noticed her slight staring and sent her a mug. Monae raised her eyebrows at her, not feeling the least bit shifted before looking back at Demari. "Whatever nigga" monae rolled her eyes and chuckled as she leaned on the counter
