Second Marriage

Chapter ~ 13

"There are two auspicious time for their marriage one is after two weeks and the other one is one year later from today."

Panditji said after doing his calculations while scrutinizing the horescope of both Sadhika and Vikram.

"Let's fix the marriage after two weeks then."

Revika said after hearing Panditji while other nodded their head in approval and the marriage got fixed after two weeks.

"We have to do a lot of preparation for the wedding."

Sadhika's mother said to which Revika looked at her and said.

"You are right Sumitra ji but don't worry everything will be managed."

Nodding her head at her Sumitra said.

"But still I have only one daughter and I want to do everything for her which I have been dreaming from the time she was born."

Hearing her Revika nodded her head at her understanding her wishes as a mother of a daughter.

Vikram come inside their chamber but didn't found her anywhere so he made his way towards the bed and lay down there waiting for her to come.

After sometimes she came smiled at him who just looked at her from head to bottom making her heart beat faster.

She comes towards him and then lay down besides him, scooting towards him Devika hug him, Vikram drape his hands around her and pulled her closer to him.

"Will you never talk to me Vikram? Are you still angry on me ?"

Devika asked him who was still silent he looked at her.

"I am not angry at you Devika and I never could be but to myself."

He took a pause looked at her and said.

"It's not your fault at all love so there is no point in getting angry with you."

He pulled her up, made her look at him and said while caressing her cheeks.

"I love you Devika, I love you so much."

He said to her who was looking at him already, holding her face in his hands he kissed her on her forehead while she closed her eyes feeling the moment. Opening her eyes she looked at him while he looked at her back leaning forwards he kissed her deeply and changed their position swiftly and let everything fade itself into backdrop leaving only both of them.

The next morning Vikram woke up first and looked at the woman in his arms, a smile tug on his lips. Removing the lock of her hair from her face which was falling, he looked at her kissing her on her forehead, he said.

"How could I give a place in my heart to someone else when it's already belong to you Devika."

He said and hold her in his arms firmly but carefully. Closing his eyes he lay there while holding her who is sleeping peacefully in his arms.

Well he knows how much of the pain she face the time when she got to know about the marriage will be held within two weeks , though she tried to cover that up but he knows how much she suffers from inside because of that.

He feels her wiggling as she is coming out of her slumber. Opening her eyes she looked at him ,kissing her on her lips Vikram pick her up in his arms and went towards the bathroom where she hold him for safety.

"Good morning."

She mumbled in his neck while a soft chuckled resonates in the air through his lips.

"Good morning love. How are you feeling now ?"

He asked her, Devika nodded her head and said.

"I feel good. Just a little pain."

She said making him chuckled, holding her firmly he said.

"Let's have a warm bath it will help you."

Saying so he entered in the bathroom while holding her in his arms.

The day before the wedding ....

Standing at the balcony with an expressionless face she was looking at the blue sky recalling all the memories of hers which she has in this house.

A sad smile form on her lips , after sometimes it will be her haldi, at the twilight it's her mahendi ceremony and at the night it will be sangeet and everyone out there is happy except her. And how could she be happy when her dream is shattering infront of her eyes. A dream of marrying someone who will be a one woman's man but now everything splinter and she can't even do anything.

She comes out of her trance of thoughts when she heard the door of her room creaked open. She looked back at her friend Rashi who smiled at her. Coming close to her she hug her and a lone tear left her eyes. She needs comfort at this moment the most.

"Rashi."

She mumbled while hugging her best friend who also has tears in her eyes as she knew that her best friend is going through a turmoil right now. She knew about her wish for her married life and this is anything but an ideal marriage to her best friend.

"It will be okay Sadhika don't worry."

Rashi said trying to coaxed her friend.

"This is not what I ever want Rashi. I don't want this."

She told to her best friend who looked at her best friend with an empahty in her eyes in understanding of her best friend situation.

"Sadhika I am sorry that I can't help you with it . I am really sorry."

Rashi said to Sadhika feeling guilty as she can't help her best friend through this situation.

Peeling herself from the hug Sadhika looked at her best friend with tears filled eyes and said with a sad smile.

"Its not your fault Rashi but the fault is that we are women and that too not from a powerful background. We are not even given the choices in our lives to choose atleast the person with whom we wants to spend our life. Choices got forced on us and we have to accept it. I hate it to the core."

Sadhika said while controlling her tears. Rashi looked at her, caress her back while nodding her head in agreement with her words.

"Sadhika don't worry maybe you will find your happiness with time who knows."

She said to her best friend who was not looking as happy and chirpy as she used to be.

"I don't know Rashi but I am not having a good feeling with all this, I don't know but there is some uncanny feelings about all this happening which is not letting me be in peace. Its making me restless and I don't know why but I just don't want this."

Sadhika said expressing her sentiments in front of her best friend who was listening to her.

That's when they both heard the gate opening sound looking towards its direction they found few girls from their neighborhood standing there , so she wiped her tears away before anyone else could see them.
Smiling at them they all entered inside and one of them said.

"Oh my god Sadhika you are looking so pretty. This yellow colour lahenga is enhancing your beauty more."

Hearing her words Sadhika gave her a smile. Rashi looked at her bestfriend knowing well how fake her smile is.

"Okay now it's time for your haldi so let's not waste more time."

One of the girl said this , Sadhika nodded her head and then they all take her out towards the hall where all this ceremony will be held.
