"So... You're Sky's sister?" I said. Scarlet played with my cat, "Uh-huh."

I was sitting on Nick’s bed and in between the grumbling twins. It didn’t take much to know that they didn’t like Scarlet, but I was wondering why…

“Would you leave already?” Nick whined.

“You’re not the boss of me,” Scarlet said.

“This is our room!” Natt said.

“No wonder it reeks of stupidity,” she said.

“Get out!” the twins snapped.

“Kiss my ass,” she said.

“Enough!” I yelled, and to my surprise they obeyed. I sighed out loud and looked at them all, “Why do you guys hate each other?”

“Long story Naomi,” the twins said.

“For once I agree,” Scarlet said.

“I’m willing to hear it,” I told them. After a moment they all sighed, “Fine, but we’ll make it short.”

“You told us about Sky’s bullying right?” Natt said.

I nodded.

“Well, it’s the same with her,” said Nick, saying ‘her’ as if it was a terrible insult.

“Oh you two are just babies,” Scarlet stuck her tongue at them.

“Shut it moron,” they said.

“Um guys, the story?” I said.

“Right, well she also did a lot of freakin’ torturing to us too,” they grumbled.

“Like the time she put spiders in our bed.”

“Or the time she put dog drool on our hair.”

“And don’t forget the times she humiliated us at school…”

Scarlet sighed happily, “Those were such wonderful memories…” The boys threw a pillow at her and she ended up falling on her butt. “Hey!”

They smirked at her, “But since we’re boys, we grew taller than her and much stronger than her too. And since we were thirteen, we had started getting back at her for all the crap she had done.”

“Don’t get ahead of yourselves,” said Scarlet as she stood up and glared at them. “You haven’t outdone me as much as you think. Don’t forget that I can still fight back,” she said putting a hand on her hip.

“Clever witch,” muttered Natt.

“Got that right,” Nick joined.

“Be quiet all of you!” I snapped. Their arguments are starting to annoy me. And again they listened to me.

After a long moment of somewhat peaceful silence, Scarlet tilted her head curiously, “Everyone thought you were timid and quiet…”

“Boy, were we wrong,” said the twins.

“And where’d you get a silly idea like that?” I asked.

“Well, you hardly leave Maylie’s house, and when you do, you take walks alone…” she shrugged. “If I had known that we were wrong then I would’ve talked to you sooner,” she smiled.

“Really?” I asked.

“So, why are you here Naomi?” she asked as she stroked a purring furball.

“Nick and Natt said that they---“ at that two hands covered my mouth and the twins said, “This has nothing to do with you.”

“Like I care,” she said, rolling her eyes at them. Her eyes then went to the computer screens and she skipped towards them. Natt and Nick tensed, “Don’t!” they warned.
