“You will NOT humiliate yourself.” I slapped both cheeks to get myself together. My heart still kept pounding with excitement. Even though West had just embarrassingly seen my undies, I refuse to stay down! I’m in West’s house for crying out loud! This has to be the best event of the summer!!! I get to see him, eat, yawn, do chores… and maybe I might even see him shirtless!
Whoa Naomi… Stop. Your mind’s getting pervy.
I inhaled and expelled the breath slowly. I stared at my reflection who was beaming a great big smile on her face. “Okay, let’s see what we should do to get him to notice us as a girl!” I said. Well, he did say that he thought I was pretty. I mean, he’s the very first guy outside my family who told me that! Although I did make him answer…
I remembered the twin’s tip about making a move. Time to follow their advice…but, wait, how do I do that?
I stepped out of the bathroom and sat down the bed… How do I make a move? And what did they actually mean ‘make a move’?
I went to the bag that my cunning and amazing Auntie had prepared for me and started unpacking. Does making a move mean I have to flirt? The more I thought about it the more confused I became. I placed my laptop on the empty desk then put my iphone beside it. My mind kept itself busy as I put my clothes in the empty drawers.
I suddenly heard someone knocking on the front door and then West was jogging down the stares saying, “I’ll get it!”
I poked my head out and saw West open the door. “What brought you two here?” I heard him ask the unknown guest.
“Where’s Naomi?” two voices replied. They walked past West and I saw Nick and Natt look around. “How’d you guys know she’s here?” West asked.
“We have our sources,” Natt retorted.
I suddenly grew excited again. I wanted to tell them the good news!
I ran towards them with a huge grin and took their hands before dragging them into the room and locking the door behind me. I didn’t want West to follow and hear me talking about him.
“What was that all about?” Natt grumbled. Our eyes met and the scene that happened between us flashed back into my head. It seemed he was thinking about the same thing before saying, “What happened between us is now forgotten. Agreed?”
I nodded, “Agreed.” Then I grinned from ear to ear and started jumping up and down taking both their hands again.
“What is wrong with you?” Nick asked.
“Yeah, you’re being extra weird today,” added Natt.
“West almost kissed me yesterday!” I beamed.
“What!?” they said in unison.
“KISS!!!” I squealed.
“Are you sure you didn’t just imagine it?” Natt asked suspiciously.
I shook my head, “No! Our upper lips touched!!!”
“Then he pulled back,” Nick guessed.
I shook my head again, my jumping never stopped as I talked. “Ty got in the way.”
Nick looked at his brother who looked back at him with that same amused expression, “Looks like West is noticing…”
Natt nodded in agreement.
