Chapter 13

Carson's POV

She is beautiful.

Absolutly ravishing, her innocent presence and her soft aura only enhanced her beauty. But her voice, that sweet soft voice was gentle. As if she was singing every time she spoke.

Her doey eyes could make any man fall to is knees and worship the ground her tiny feet walked on. I looked down at the precious one sitting on my lap, now playing with the stings of my hoodie. I couldn't help but breathe in the sent of vanilla radiating off her.

She is tiny compared to me, and all I want to do is cradle her in my arms.

"Little one," I broke her distraction from my hoodie "how about we get you a lollipop?" I gently asked.

"O-okay," she nodded her head vigorously, her doey eyes glued to mine.

I smiled down at her and took her tiny hand in my larger one."There we go, now let me see that pretty smile." I gently placed a soft kiss to her palm. A blush crept on those perfect buffy cheeks. My heart swelled knowing I have an affect on her.

"Hold on okay, Little one." placing my hands under her thighs. She nodded her head and placed it in the crook of my neck. So precious, I got up from the couch and made my way into the kitchen. I could hear everyone chatting but mostly the banter between Mia and August.

As I took the last step into the kitchen, all eyes were on us. Atticus was now standing in the kitchen, an empty glass in his hand with his mouth open. Henry stood by the fridge, eyes whide in shock as he saw Arley in my arms.

Akeno has a devilish smirk on his face as he side eyed me. Mia and August both stood side by side, their mouths were hanging low with wide eyes as they each held their own emoty plates.

I made my way towards the counter and tired to place Arley down so I could make a plate for her but she whined and hugged me tighter, pulling on the back of my hoodie. I chuckled at her cuteness, "Little one, I need to put you down so I can grab you a lollipop." I gently rubbed her back trying to console her.

"How is this even possible?" Henry asked, closing the fridge.

"Arley never let's anyone touch her other than us, what happened up there?" he added.

I chuckled at them, "I guess she feels comfortable around me." I stoked her soft long curls.

Mia was still staring at me with wide eyes and a knowing look. I shook my head before making sure Arley was still holding onto me.

Atticus and Henry left the kitchen and made their way to the living room that was now set up with pillows and blankets for everyone. I walked over to Akeno, moving Arley to my hip so I could dish for us. "She trusts you" Akeno commented, "I haven't seen her get attached to anyone so quickly." he shrugged.

I placed four slices on my plate and two slices for Little one, I managed to cut up her slices so she will be able to eat the pizza better. "The feeling is mutual" I chuckled.

After Akeno left the kitchen it was just Arley and I in the kitchen, she mumbling to herself about unicorns and their colours. Her little breathes were tickling my neck but it felt soothing. I added more apple juice to her bottle and placed it near our food. Walking towards the living room, I placed Arley along side Akeno who was now seated with an open blanket waiting for her.

Arley quickly jumped to Akeno's side and her brought her closer by wrapping his arm around her. Smiling down at her, I went to the kitchen to retrieve our food and her apple juice. I heard footsteps behind me and once I turned I saw Atticus in front of me.
