Akeno's pov
I woke up feeling groggy, my vision blurry and I sat up in bed. I stretched my arms over my head and leaned over my bed to grab my phone on the bedside table. I switched my phone on to see it was 6am. Great.
I climbed out of bed and headed towards the bathroom to shower and brush my teeth. After 20 minutes I walked out wearing grey sweatpants with a blue hoodie and my white sneakers. I brushed my curls and dashed a bit of cologone on myself before walking out my room and downstairs towards the kitchen.
Everyone was still alseep. No shocker there, Dad stays up all night trying to find out who the damn hacker is. August plays video games till 4 in the morning and Angel, well she just walks up whenever she wants since her classes are done for the year.
I groan running my hand over my face, I walked towards the coffee machine and switched it on. I leaned against the counter waiting for the coffee to finish and I heard heavy footsteps coming from the stairs. I glanced over my shoulder to see Dad holding his laptop in his hands. His disheveled appearance tells me he hasn't slept yet.
"Akeno, you're up early." Dad spoke placing his laptop on the counter and taking a set on the chair. I nod my head and the sound of the coffee machine interrupted the silence. I stood up and grabbed two mugs from the top shelf and poured coffee for dad and I before placing his mug in front of him.
I sat down next to him taking a sip of my own, letting the caffeine do it's job by waking me up. "You haven't slept." I glanced towards Dad, who huffed taking a sip of his coffee. "Of course not, not until Henry and I find out who is behind this mess." Dad growled lowly placing his mug on the counter.
"You have any plans today?" Dad spoke looking up from his laptop. I huff looking through the sliding doors that lead to the backyard, "Yeah, I have a date." I sipped my coffee before glancing back at Dad who was now frozen with wide eyes and a jaw that hung on the floor.
"Don't give me that look, old man." I snickered with a smirk.
Dad scoffed nudging me with his shoulder, "Old? Please boy, I can give you a run for your money," dad chuckled hoarsely, "So who is the lucky guy?" Dad wiggled his eyebrows and I almost choked on my coffee.
"Eww. Dad don't do that again." I gagged.
"Just tell me before I let Henry know the Grinch finally got his heart." Dad teased, I growled rolling my eyes. "His name is Ben and he works at the ice cream parlour I took Angel too." I sipped my coffee with a slight smirk.
"Ouuu fancy, is he cute?" Dad chuckled.
I rolled my eyes already regretting saying anything in the first place. I huff standing up and walking to the coffee machine to pour me another mug. "He is dad, but it's just a date. So relax." I scoff.
Dad scrowled, "You people never tell me anything. And YOU, you haven't dated anyone, I don't even think I've seen you with someone before. This must be...the one?" Dad wiggled is eyebrows again and I cringe.
"Dad," I growl, "It's just coffee, that's all." I roll my eyes.
Before Dad could repsond, Angel walked into the kitchen with Pyro waggling his small tail as he tried to keep up with her steps. "Thank god, no more questions." I mumbled, "Good morning, Angel." I smiled softly seeing her messy bed curls.
Angel mumbled something incoherant and slumped into Dad's lap. Dad scooped her up and placed her on his lap placing a kiss to her head and she went back to sleep, I chcukled softly and stroked Pyro's head.
"Sleepy girl," Dad whispered, "Akeno? We're not done talking" Dad smirked before picking Angel up and walked towards the couch, where he gently placed her down and covered her with a blanket. Pyro began whinning and jumping up and down trying to get to Angel, I whistled for Pyro to come to me and he ran quickly, sliding on the floor as he saw I held his food bowl and fresh water.
