"[Y/N], ready to head out?" Artemis asked as she entered my castle. "It's a clear night."
"Nearly," I giggled, adjusting my shirt before joining her. "Okay, I'm ready."
"Who are you getting dolled up for?"
"...No one..."
"Uh huh," Artemis scoffed, leaving my castle as I followed her. "'Seph already told me about your human."
"...A human I had sex with."
"Who you look forward to hearing from," Artemis chuckled as we stepped onto her chariot. "What's her name?"
"Alcina," I dreamily sighed as we took off. "She's gorgeous. We started getting to know each other, but her family came home."
"...And they...?"
"You know how humans are," I spat, looking over the side of the chariot while we flew. "The next time we can meet will be when her parents leave again. I hope it's soon."
"...I hope so, too," Artemis whispered, sending me a warm smile. "I haven't seen you like this before. Don't let 'Dite find out until you're sure of your feelings for this human."
"Oh, trust me, I know," I laughed. "When she finds out, 'Dite will be ecstatic and will want to help me, but we have to keep this hidden from humans."
"And we all know Aphrodite hates that — hiding true love."
"Maybe one day it'll be more accepted," I sighed before a faint voice reached me, causing my heart to skip a beat. "Shhh! Alcina's talking."
"I don't know if this will work," Alcina's voice reached my ears. "But I'll test it out. I'm probably just talking to myself, but thinking you can hear me will help."
'I can hear you,' I thought, smiling at the soft gasp from her.
"...[Y/N]?"
'Talk to your heart's content. Tell me about how you got into music, my dear.'
"Normally, I'd hate being called that," Alcina's chuckle made me smile. "But it sounds nice coming from you. Now, will you tell me a story as well?"
'If I have time. I just love hearing you talk.'
"Flirt."
'Only with you.'
"That's when we started our group," Alcina said with a yawn, ending her story of how she got into music. "...It's late..."
'Get some rest,' I smiled and stopped leaning on the side of the chariot, gaining Artemis' attention. 'I'll tell you a story about myself tomorrow.'
"...We have a concert this weekend...You should come."
'I'll be there. Good night, Alcina.'
"Good night, [Y/N]."
Artemis raised an eyebrow at me, making me clear my throat. "Alcina's heading to bed now."
"So she did call out to you."
"Mhm," I smiled, moving over to her. "I asked her to tell me about how she got into music."
"...You are in love," Artemis muttered, a smile taking over her face. "When was the last time you had a crush on someone?"
"Hm...Shortly after I became a god. She was human, but the human only wanted sex. Or at least, that's what she claimed. She wanted to marry a man but enjoyed the sex we had."
"...How long did you keep that going? Doesn't sound healthy."
"I think she didn't want to admit her feelings for me because she never married. We acted like we were married, too. Alcina's different though. I can't explain it."
"Tell me about her," Artemis giggled. "What does she look like?"
"Tall, for starters," I giggled. "Probably six feet tall? Maybe six-one? I'll have to ask, but she's taller than me. Black hair, green eyes, smooth skin..."
"Taller than you? Then she has to be around six feet tall at least."
"At least my godly form is taller," I grumbled, huffing when Artemis burst into laughter. "Shut it."
"Be nice!" Artemis laughed. "I think it's cute that Alcina's taller than you."
"...Do you want to see her perform?"
"...That came out of nowhere, but sure."
"'Seph already saw Alcina perform, so I figured I should ask someone else. And since you're the only other being who knows about her right now..."
"I'm the only other person you can ask right now."
"Exactly."
"Be glad I don't mind watching you flirt with humans. It's my form of entertainment."
"What's so entertaining about it?!"
"Usually? How flustered the humans get. Now? I'm just curious to see you two together."
'I did NOT fall in love with a human at first sight,' My heart sank at the thought before it fluttered rapidly. 'But if it's Alcina, is it really that bad?'
Sun Rise
"Get some sleep," Artemis called as I left her stable.
"You too!" I laughed, making my way to my castle.
'[Y/N,' I paused when I saw the note on my castle door, tensing when I recognized Aphrodite's handwriting. 'Talk to me when you're ready. I know this isn't an easy thing for you, so I won't force you to talk to me. You'll come to me when you're ready; I know you will.'
I softly sighed and took the note down, entering my castle and locking the door behind me. After setting the note on a table, I began slowly walking through my halls, trying to think of stories I could share with Alcina the next time I saw her. As I ran the water to fill the tub, I hummed and began undressing, lighting a few candles shortly after. '...I wonder if Alcina's awake yet...' I shook the thought away, frowning at the sudden realization. 'I did fall in love at first sight...'
"Fuck," I sighed, staring at the ceiling. "Getting to know Alcina will just make me fall for her more."
The thought excited and scared me, causing my stomach to churn. 'What if I keep a wall up? Don't let Alcina in too much...Yeah, I can do that. I'll just tell her...' My face scrunched up as my stomach churned again at the idea, pulling a low groan out of me. 'How could one human have such a drastic effect on a goddess? I mean, I admit that I thought she was gorgeous when I first saw Alcina, but falling in love at first sight?! ...Is it just lust? And why do I want it to not be lust?'
"...Maybe I should talk to Aphrodite..." I sighed as my heart squeezed.
