"Shot shot shot!"
They cheered in unison as they repeatedly drumped their hands on the table while watching me drown myself in a glass full of beer.
It's Sunday, so we headed to the bar to get wasted. It's the only chance we get to spend time together, as our schedules rarely align. With different courses and occasional projects or weekend classes, this is the only day we can be together.
After finishing the last sip of my drink, I raised the empty glass in the air making everyone in the table cheer.
I smirk like a champion in a contest as I tipsily put the glass to the table while my other hand reaches out for a handful of chips before placing it into my mouth.
"Master Dunk! Looks like we have a problem ha. What's with all these heavy drinks now?" Earn teasingly asked.
Problem? Huh.
I ignored my friend as I drank another glass of beer making Earn chuckle.
Earn has been our friend since high school. She studies tourism, while Milk, Ryu, and I are pursuing architecture, and First is studying medicine.
Earn pushed another friend of ours, Ryu, so she could sit beside me. My drunk friend seems to not be giving up on torturing me with her useless question as she keeps on asking while looking in my direction who I still ignore feeling uncomfortable and heartbroken to answer.
I noticed Milk, the opposite direction of ours, mummers. "He's single now, get it?" She gave her a 'don't-be-an-ass-and-shut-your-mouth look.
Earn's eyes widen as well as her mouth agape. She looked in my direction.
"KHAOTUNG BROKE UP WITH YOU?" She shouted making everyone at the table face palmed.
"DUMBASS!"
First smacked Earn's head for being insensitive as they looked in my direction, worriedly.
Awkward silence surrounds the table while everyone in the bar unbotheredly half naked, danced in a beat with multiple lights dim, not minding them.
I chuckled awkwardly. It's fine. Earn probably doesn't know since she's so friendly and has a lot of friends, just not us. We also don't hang out much.
"Come on, let's cheer!" I yelled breaking the silence between us.
They looked awkwardly at each other before they joined me as they raised their empty glasses to the air.
The sound of the clinking glass is music to my ears. I missed this.
I drank the whole beer thinking it would help to forget him, but I said that a couple of times now, yet I still remember him.
It's been a month and I'm still here grieving. I mean, how can I? I'm still surviving how to live my life without him.
I poured another beer on my glass and drank it without hesitation as I closed my eyes, feeling and wanting the familiar taste.
"Dunk, did you go to school to take the test? The deadline will be in the first week of this month." Milk said worriedly.
Damn, I forgot that one! I avoided her gaze making First sighed.
"Dunk, if you don't take the test, you'll be left behind. Milk and Ryu will graduate before you," First said, gripping my hand to make me look up.
