Thirteen: Inspiration

"Wow! You got the highest score on the test!"

Milk nudged my arm playfully as we walked down the crowded hallway, her smirk catching my attention. I couldn't help but wonder what she was up to.

"I wonder who's your lucky charm?" she asked with a playful tap on her chin, pretending to think hard about it.

Oh my gosh, what now?

She swiftly turned to me, her face lighting up with a wide grin. "Can I borrow him?" she asked, her voice laced with amusement.

I immediately furrowed and slapped her arm in response, which only made her burst into laughter, the sound echoing down the hall.

"You're such a jerk! I'll tell your girlfriend about this," I threatened, narrowing my eyes at her.

Instantly, her demeanor changed. She straightened up and began rubbing my arm apologetically. "Come on, don't be like that. Can't you take a joke?"

She flashed me a fake smile, so I mimicked her expression right back. She's so good at flirting with everyone, yet always folds when it comes to her girlfriend.

"Are you heading home?" I asked, changing the topic.

She shook her head. "Nope, I'm staying to help Freen at the booth."

I nodded, accepting her answer, and we continued walking in comfortable silence. When we reached our building's main entrance, we parted ways, each heading in different directions.

Hay, alone again. Ryu couldn't be with me since he was still busy because of the event at the booth, taking pictures for the school's Facebook page.

As I continued to walk, lost in my thoughts, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I pulled it out and glanced at the screen, and a wide smile spread across my face when I saw who it was.

I chuckled to myself. Why is he still hung up on our conversation from yesterday? We had been joking about his offer for a one-week dating trial after our last date.

I laughed out loud, covering my mouth to keep from drawing attention. It was always so much fun to mess with him.
