"What task were you assigned?"
Ryu approached me and leaned against the wall near the door. I sighed heavily, knowing I got a tiring assignment.
"Setting up the booth," I said, feeling disappointed.
Ryu's face lit up as if I'd said something miraculous. "Same!" he shouted excitedly.
Oh, great! It's November, which means there's an event for every course at the university to showcase our craft. It's also close to the first-year enrollment period, so we'll be inviting students to join our course.
And, just my luck, I got assigned to booth construction. It would've been fine if it was designing, right? But no! That went to Milk! She's a girl, sure, but if you think about it, she's stronger than me because she's an alpha. She's more muscular than I am, and Milk is used to this kind of work.
They really want to make things difficult for me. Ugh!
"Is everything ready?" our leader Beatrice asked.
We exchanged glances, checking if anything was missing. We were already outside the school, and all the materials for the booth were here.
"All set!" Ryu shouted.
Beatrice gathered us to plan the booth. She suggested we build a large canopy tent and display the architecture students' projects inside. To keep people from getting bored, she thought of selling food or creating games related to our course, which was a great idea.
I helped set up the canopy tent first. It took us half an hour to finish because we had no idea how to set up such a big tent, especially since there were only four guys and one girl.
"Hey, you're here too?!"
I didn't even have to turn around; I instantly knew who it was.
"Of course," I said sarcastically, which earned a chuckle from him as he stood beside me.
"I honestly thought you'd be assigned to design. But hey, this works out even better-we're together now!" he said, practically glowing with excitement."Gosh! Is there any day when he's not happy?
I rolled my eyes at him. "Why did you guys set up your booth here? Are you seriously going to follow me everywhere?" I raised my brow before I crossed my arms over my chest, turning fully to face him.
"You must really be into me, huh?" I teased with a slight smirk forming on my lips.
Joong seemed momentarily caught off guard, his eyes widening slightly before a sly grin spread across his face. He turned to look at me with a playful glint in his eyes.
"Don't you know? Architecture and engineering should always be together."
He paused for a moment, leaning in a little closer. "Just like you and me," he added with a playful wink, his voice dripping with charm.
I scoffed at his words and gave him a gentle shove, trying to create some distance between us. "As if!" My heart was racing, but there was no way I was letting him see that.
He laughed softly, clearly amused by my reaction. He really has a habit of staring at me-does he seriously think I'm that attractive?
"Enough flirting, boss! We've got a booth to build!"
We both turned our heads to see five guys standing there, watching us with amused expressions. They were joking around and elbowing each other, obviously trying to get on Joong's nerves.
"Boss, the instruction was to build a booth, not a relationship!" The guy shouted making everyone laugh even more.
My eyebrows knitted together even tighter. My gosh! They're so loud! Joong raised his middle finger to them, playfully.
