Chapter 2 : Paternal
It had been twenty weeks since Elias found Kyra's drained, almost lifeless body in a random field. Their attempt to grow her a body was working, she was growing at a more rapid pace then a normal fetus would, and she was going to be ready for birth in just a few days. Elias watched her grow in the span of those twenty weeks, looking at her as nothing but a science experiment. There was times though, where his mind whirled with possibilities, and his thoughts slipped as he thought of the child growing in his laboratory. Would he really be able to see her as an experiment and nothing more?
// A week later //
One of Ryland's assistance rushed to Elias's office, barging into the room like nothing. Elias glared up at him, a very heavy file full of papers on his desk before him. "That is a show of disrespect, walking into MY office like you own the place." He spat, rising from his seat. "My apologies my lord, but please come quickly, it's the fetus." He breathed, gasping for air. Elias's eyes widened as he ran out the door, pushing the man out of the way. He rushed to the lab, looking around for Ryland. He barged into the room he was sure they were in before stopping in his tracks. Right there, in his scientists arms, was the most beautiful yet strange baby he had ever seen. He let out a small gasp, staring down at the little girl, his lips parting. Elias slowly walked over, gently taking the baby from Rylands arms and holding her as if she was the most precious thing. He looked down at her, his gaze quickly softening as he took in all her features, her strange yet beautiful silver white hair, and her captivating violet eyes. His pupils dilated as he memorized all her strange features, and right there he knew. She wasn't a lab experiment, she was his beautiful little girl. That thought repeated in his head no matter how hard he tried to fight it. This beautiful baby was his, and he was going to raise her as his own.
// Five years later //
It had been five years since the strange white haired little girl was born, and Elias had given her a name, Aneira. Elias kept her close almost all the time, his plan to turn her into a weapon had faltered and he no longer saw her as just a child, but HIS child. He loved her more than anything and would do anything for her. He had taken in his best friends son a year before Aneira was born, Rowan Walton. He didn't care for the boy as much as he cared for his little girl, but he made do with what he had and took advantage of the extra person, putting Rowan into training almost immediately.
~ Aneira's POV ~
I was walking down the hall with my father, our fingers intertwined as I glanced around the huge room. I loved my home and everything about it. It was a huge place for someone as small as me but I managed. My father took good care of me, always making sure I was well fed and taken care of, but there was one thing that bothered me a bit. My dad always told me how much he loved me, and how he felt, but I could never feel the same. I never felt what he described and it made me sad knowing I couldn't feel as well as he could.
