I step out of the taxi and retrieve my bags from the driver. "Thank you," I say as I hand him a $50 tip. "No, thank you," he replies before getting into the taxi and driving away. He was very helpful at the airport and with my bags, so this was the least I could do.
I turned to the house and said to myself, "Home sweet home." I heard the sound of a motorcycle approaching and coming to a stop. "Aphrodite?" I heard, causing me to turn. Only one person calls me that.
He removes his helmet and places his bike on the stand as he gets off. "Hermes?" I ask, setting my bags down. He glances over my body and smirks. "Have Mercy," he says. I roll my eyes and smile back at him. "It's been a while," he adds. I playfully glare at him in response. "It's been a month."
"So too long," he tells me. He runs over and lifts me into a hug. "Jess, put me down," I laugh, and he slowly puts me down. "I missed you, Dite," he says, pulling me close. "I missed you too,"
We stand for a moment, looking at each other... It felt as if time had stopped, with his hands around my waist and his eyes locked onto mine. It was like a dream—trust me, I've had those. But then reality hit.
