The Black Lake

February 24 is a chilly morning. The sky outside is all cloudy and grey and the black lake is stirring as if waiting to drown someone. Today is the second task of the Triwizard Tournament, the champions must "retrieve what was stolen". Nobody knows what though. All the kids are bundling up in warm clothing and waterproof jackets to combat the cold, spring was still a month away, unfortunately. I walked out into the crisp, damp air and headed down to the lake where the school's setup stands for the audience. I glance around unable to find Ron or Hermione in the crowd, I wonder where they've gone. I continued to walk down coming across Fred and George,

"Any bets!"

"Any bets!"

"Come on step up mates. Don't be shy."

"Three lads."

"One lady..."

"Four go down!"

"But do four come up?!" They kept yelling back and forth, walking up the hill with the bet box.

"Hello boys, what are you doing?" I asked. Of course, I knew what, but it was fun talking to them, I love them like they're my brothers.

"Oh hey Y/N, we're collecting bets," Fred replied. George nodded blowing into his hands. Just then Ginny walked by, bumping into them,

"Don't be so mean," She huffed and walked away.

"What's with her?" George asked.

"How should I know?" Fred answered. I smiled at their goofy behaviour and walked away watching them collect more money.

Continuing down the hill to the docks, I saw Harry walking with Neville as I approached them I heard Harry say, "...than Ron and Hermione. Where are they anyway?"

"That's what I was coming to ask you," I interrupted. He shrugged clueless.

"You seem a little tense Harry," Neville stuttered.

"Do I?" Harry replied sarcastically. I warily got into the boat, and my intense fear of water, more so bodies of dark mysterious water, came over me. Both boys hopped into a rowboat with me and rowed towards the great big stands. Each time the boat gently swayed, I lost my breath, and my knuckles turned white due to how hard I held the boat. Students were cheering and chanting, their calls echoed throughout the whole area, and it was a grand sight. As we came off our row boat Harry quickly pushed through the crowd to the front, Neville and I followed behind. I caught sight of Mattheo standing in the distance, silently watching me. I wanted to go to him but I knew I had to wait for him to come to me. As I reached the front Dumbledore's powerful voice bellowed,

"Welcome to the second task. Last night, something was stolen from each of our champions. A treasure of sorts, these 4 treasures, one for each champion, now lie on the bottom of the Black Lake. In order to win, each champion need only to find their treasure and return to the surface. Simple enough. Except for this; they will have but one hour to do so... and one hour only. After they'll be on their own. No magic will save them. You may begin at the start of the canon." Just as he finished the canon went off and all the students cheered. 3 of the champions jumped in but Harry stood there coughing at what he had eaten earlier, Professor Moody just shoved him in and he fell with a big splash. Some of us began to get worried since he didn't jump of his own accord.

"What's the matter with him?" Seamus said to Dean.

"I don't know I can't see him," Dean answered. Neville turned to me frightened,

"Oh my god," he shoved his hands in his hair, "I've killed Harry Potter!"

"Goodness!" I laughed, "No you haven't Neville I'm sure he's fine. He's the boy who-" As if on cue with a splash I saw Harry leap into the air out of the water, whooping. He looked like a bloody fish.
