CHAPTER 7

It was around 11:50 a.m. when Raghav decided to knock on Pallavi's door. She opened it after two minutes and greeted him with a smile.

"Hey! I am not early right?" He asked hesitantly.

"No, I just finalized our steps. Come in." she invited him inside.

He entered the room and Pallavi went to connect the speakers. 

He was looking all confident outside but inside, he was hell nervous.

What if I don't match her vibe? What will she think? Damn Raghav, you should have joined dance classes during your high school days as your mom instructed. But no, you signed up for that Karate class and see, Pallavi is not interested in your Karate! 

"Where are you lost?" he came out from his thoughts as he heard her sound.

"Ha? No. Its just that, I am gonna do this for the first time."

"Its okay. I am there na. We will make this up." saying this, she showed him the steps for the two songs. She had selected a romantic melody from 90s as well as a popular song from one of the recent movies.

At first, it was difficult for him but slowly she taught him how to improve his movements. As each minute passed he was getting better and better. As their third rehearsal ended, he was confident in himself. 

But he knew that it was mostly because of her. She was patient enough to correct him each time. Whenever he came in contact with her hands, he felt a vibration. A sensation that he had never experienced before. Her eyes, . .he was sure that he was not seeing that for the first time. Her fragrance was familiar to him yet, he couldn't recollect where did he met her before.

"Wow Raghav, see. Now, nobody will say that you are dancing for the first time." Pallavi said as she sat down on the floor for a while. He joined her since both of them needed a break.

"Pallavi can I ask you something?" he asked her, looking straight into her eyes and her heart skipped a beat.

"What is Raghav?"

"Have we met before?" 

"No . . .why did you asked so?" she was confused.

"I just felt so."

She didn't replied even though she also felt the same multiple times.

"Okay, leave it. Tell me about you Raghav. Let's have some chit-chat."

"Well, you know my profession. Apart from that I have a small family. Mom and Dad are two adorable personalities who managed to sustain their love that bloomed during their college days. I am interested in boxing and martial arts. Along with that, people think that I am an introvert.

Now what about you?"

"Well, I am Pallavi. I am a journalist as you already know. Unlike your parents, my parents are not so in love right now. But yes, they gifted me my younger brother 9 years ago, for which I am extremely grateful to them."

"Your parents . ." he asked hesitantly.

"They are separated; not legally though. Its some silly ego issues but I don't think about it anymore."

"So Pluto is younger brother." he said to change the topic.

"Too young. In fact, he is my first child." he saw the sparkle inside her eyes.

"What about your boyfriend?" he asked her, out of a sudden confidence. Pallavi looked at him with a confusion.

"Did I already mentioned about him?" she asked him back.

So, she is committed already? He felt a disappointment.

"Hmm . .no. I don't think so."

"Good. I didn't mentioned about him because I don't have one.

Thank you to all the lords up there in the sky. Raghav made a prayer.

 "Do you have any?" she asked him

"No. I don't have any boyfriends as well."

Both of them looked at each other and busted out into a laughter. She opened her phone and showed him a picture.

"He is my Pluto."

Raghav felt as if the little boy is really adorable.

 No wonder, she is so fond of her baby brother.

"Acha Raghav, I think its time for lunch. Pihu and Sanjay must be waiting for us."

"Ha, I will get fresh and come. See you downstairs."

He got up and left the room. As he was walking towards his room he realized that he laughed like that after a long time. He never fell in love before and he thought that he will never love someone like the way his Dad loves his Mom. But Pallavi . . . .she just entered straight into his heart. 

 And by the time, he reached his doors he realized that he had indeed fallen for that charming girl who came to his life only a few days ago.

"Pallavi how's your dance practice going?" Pihu asked to tease her.

"Stop it Pihu." Pallavi knew that she was trying to pull her leg

"Arey, I was just asking. Acha, tell me. Are you coming with us tomorrow?"

"To where?"

"Just like an outing. Sanjay's friends will also be there." 

"Who? Arjun and gang. Then I won't be there."

"Arjun will be there. But Sanjay is planning to bring Raghav as well." Pihu knew which name should be taken to bring her best friend.

"I don't think he will go with them. He doesn't like that noisy gang, especially you-know-whom!"

"That's why you should come. He will be okay if you will be there. Plus, you will get some time to know."

"Get to know him? What are you saying?" Pallavi tried to resist.

"Arey, get to know him as a friend. That's what I meant." Pihu gave her a justification.

Pallavi gave her a look but nonetheless, she agreed to go with them, if Raghav wants to go as well.

On the other hand, Sanjay wanted Raghav to come with him but as expected he denied without any second thoughts. Then he played his trump card and told him that Pallavi will be there with Pihu and Arjun will be coming as well. As soon as Raghav heard this, he agreed to go with them.

Afterall, he was determined to not to let Arjun flirt with Pallavi.

Sanjay looked at Pihu and gave her a thumps up. She returned him a smile and nodded her head. 

Their plan to bring their best friends closer was finally finding its way.
