CHAPTER 6

Raghav woke up early in the morning and after half an hour, he got the much awaited call from Raghuveer.

"Sir, your intuition was correct. We searched each and every corner of those graveyards and we were able to recover a white cloth which was buried deep beneath all these three cremation grounds."

"A white cloth?" That seemed unusual to him.

"Yes sir, and there was something written on it with blood on each of them."

"Send me the pic of all those three cloths and further send it the forensic lab. Ask them to check whether the blood sample on the cloth matches with that of any victim's blood and test for finger prints on the cloths as well! Do it immediately."

"Yes sir."

Raghav became restless as each second passed by. As he got the notification, he immediately opened the message. The first image was that of the white cloth from the graveyard, which was near to the place from which Riya's body was recovered.

Raghav stared at the image and thought about the lines. From the place of the first and second murders, his team managed to recover similar writings and the only difference is that instead of 4,  the first piece of cloth showed 2 and the second cloth piece showed 3.

"Which means he is counting. He has got a clear number of targets in his head and if he counted , Mrs. Awasthi as his second victim, Rohit as his third victim and Riya as his fourth victim, which means . . . he had already killed one person, before he started this murder series!" Raghav gulped at this new revelation. He felt like instead of getting close to the truth, they are now getting more and more lost!

He took his phone and called SP Ajay Vasudev to inform him about this new development.

"Pallavi, you found a partner for tonight sangeet ceremony?" Pihu asked her while they were having breakfast.

"Nope. Not yet." she said even though she had someone in her mind.

"Ask someone bro. See, one guy is already looking at your direction." Pihu said pointing to a direction.

Pallavi turned with an expectation of spotting Raghav there but instead she got disappointed when she saw Arjun there.

"Seriously Pihu, something is wrong with that guy." she said with an irritation.

"But yaar, Sanjay told me that he is not a pervert. May be he is genuinely interested in you!"

"But I am not interested in him." Pallavi made it clear to her best friend.

"I know!" she said with a smile. It was then they spotted Sanjay and Raghav entering the hall, and they were coming to towards the side where the girls were seated.

"Hey!" Sanjay came forward and gave a hug to Pihu.

Pallavi and Raghav decided to give some space for the lovebirds and move towards another table.
