Lucy took a deep breath before knocking on the door.

Why was she here? She could've easily stayed home, taken a nice bath, and ordered some food.

But instead she was at the hospital, anxiously standing outside the door to see Tim.

Reluctantly, she knocked on the door before pushing it open slowly.

"Hey," she said softly, looking around the room.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, slightly shocked that she even knew he was here in the first place.

"Why didn't you call me?" she asked.

"Didn't want to worry you," he said, shrugging.

"Mhm," she smiled. "The hospital called, I'm still one of your emergency contacts."

"Right," Tim said, laughing softly.

"Why are you here anyway? They were very vauge on the phone,"

"My stitches. They were um, worried of an infection so I'm just here for observation,"

Lucy pressed her lips into a tight smile. "I um, hope I didn't overstep, when I did this." she said.

"Did what?" Tim asked.

"I still have your house key," she explained. "So I went...and I fed and walked Kojo, and grabbed you some things. Like clothes...and a pillow."

"Thanks," Tim said, smiling.

An awkward silence filled the room. Lucy wasn't sure where to stand, what to say. Instead, she just stared at the wall, praying she could find the right moment to leave.

She awkwardly placed the dufflebag and pillow on the chair next to the bed, she figured it was better than her sitting there.

"Do you need anything? Tim asked. "Like...water?"

Lucy smiled. "You're in the hospital bed and you're asking me if I need anything?"

Tim shrugged, "What can I say? I'm the fierce protector and all."

"Fierce protector?" Lucy giggled. "If I recall, I was the one who jumped from car to car to save your life."

"I could've taken him," Tim smiled.

"Oh, for sure," Lucy said sarcastically. "But I had him in a mean chokehold."

"Fine," Tim sighed. "You win. You're the fierce protector."

Lucy groaned. "Being the 'fierce protector' is so much work. You can have the job back."

Tim laughed silently.

"I'll feed Kojo and take him on walks as long as you're still in the hospital," Lucy said, shoving her hands in her pockets.

Tim gave her a tight smile. "Hopefully I'll be out of here by tomorrow morning."

"Darn, I really wanted more time to spend with Kojo," she joked. "Maybe theres something I can do to keep you here longer."

Tim chuckled, "Kojo probably misses you a lot more than he misses me."

"What can I say, I'm loveable," Lucy smiled.

"That you are," Tim said, giving her a soft smile.

That annoying awkward silence filled the room again.

"I should um...head out," Lucy said, looking up at the clock on the wall. "It's getting late."

"Yeah," Tim said. "Thanks...for stopping by and for Kojo."

Lucy gave him a smile. "I hope you feel better, Tim."
