The next mornin', Cricket, Dutchy, and I went for a walk. We walked to the Brooklyn bridge and then the docks. We saw Ace and Red arguin'.

"Maybe we should go. I-" Dutchy was cut off by Cricket and I.

"Shhh!" We said in unison.

We inched closer, crouching by some boxes.

"Don't ya get it!" Ace said.

"No, I don't. You lead me on, then say you break up with me, and then leave?!" She said.

"I just want us to be over, Marie. I've moved on."

"What to... to that blondie? She is crazy! She tried to kill herself because I kissed you!" She grabbed his hands but he pulled away.

"She is crazy! I know! But,.." He stopped and looked at me.

I stood up, as did Cricket and Dutchy.
"I'm crazy, huh? Ya scabber! Get off my dock!" I screamed. I ran and pushed Ace. He stumbled back, but didn't fall.

"And you! Come on, Red! Tell me that I'm crazy! Say it to my face!" I yelled, slightly pushing her.

A tear streamed down her cheek,"Oh, no. Don't cry now! I'm just gettin' started." I rolled up my sleeves.

"I...I..." She began crying more.

"This is Brooklyn, sweetheart. Ya wanna talk about someone, ya say it to their face and face the consequences!" I said calmly.

After I said that, I pushed Marie into the water.

"Nikki! What's the matter with ya?!" Ace yelled and grabbed my arms.

I pushed his arms off and slapped right across the cheek.
"Who knows? I'm crazy." I sneered.

"Ace! Help me! I can't swim!" Marie said.

Ace nodded and took his shirt and shoes off. He jumped in and I sarcastically smiled at her.

Once she got back onto the bridge, she nervously left. Ace sighed at me and sat on the shore.

"We'll give ya two a minute." Cricket said. I nodded and sat by Ace. He was shiverin'.

"Hey, you're freezin'. Follow me." I stood up and held my hand out.

He looked at me and took it. We walked onto the dock and finally reached a level that made ya jump down. I sat Ace down and handed him a blanket that I kept down there.

"This was my favorite spot. My papa told me it was his, too. When he was younger." I continued. "It's private, secluded."

"Oh." Ace said, still shaking.

"You're still shakin'." I took one end of the blanket and I sat on Ace's lap. He looked into my eyes as I slowly wrapped us in the blanket again.

"Better?" I asked, rubbing his arm.

"Much better." He stared into my eyes for a while. "You're so beautiful."

I tucked my hair behind my ear,"Yeah, right."

"Really." He acted sincere.

I smiled at his comment and he looked at my lips. He slowly leaned in, but I stopped him.

"Wait." I tell him.

"What's the problem?" He snaps.

"Ya haven't even broken up with her yet... I-" I try to think of what to say.

"Fine! If ya don't want me, then maybe I'll just leave! Maybe she'll stay my girl!" He yelled.

"Ace. That's not what I want!" I cried.

"I'm pretty sure ya made your decision!" Ace ran off as I yelled for him, tears staining my cheeks.
