"Fix that little issue..."

Paige POV

We made it to my mom's house safely. We all pile out of the bus but i stay at the door to pull Alexis aside. I've been 'cast out' from our friend group. Don't know if that makes sense but everyone has been real awkward with me.

I'm pretty sure it's because i've been trying to include kenzie in our hang outs. I don't see why they don't like her when she's super sweet. well to me, i've noticed she doesn't like lexi for some weird reason.

"hey paigey! you coming in?" speak of the devil. i turn to look at kenzie who's beside me. "uh yea one second, you can go ahead and go in" she frowns and stays. i roll my eyes and just leave her.

lexi finally walks out with kk, laughing. "hey lex can i talk to you real quick." she stops looks beside me and raises an eyebrow.

"with her as well?" she points to kenzie and i glance over and shake my head. "kenzie can you go in please?" she pouts at me. "and leave you with the devils spawn?! no way!"

and like if on cue both kk and lexi glare at her. "know what kenzie girl let's go in together!" kk grabs her and drags her away as she tries to get out of her hold. "noooo i wanna stay!" kk just rolls her eyes and winks at lexi who giggles.

man i've missed hearing that. she doesn't hang with me as much anymore cause of kenzie. i hate it a lot cause we'd always hang out.

"lex.." she turns to me. "yeah, what did you want to talk about?" i sigh and rub my arm feeling nervous.

"uh what's going on with us?" she furrows her eyebrows. "what do you mean?" i huff knowing she knows what i mean.

"like you don't talk to me anymore or hang out with me...even if it's just us." she rolls her eyes.

"wanna know why NONE of us really do that anymore? hmm? cause of you're new little friend you have. every hang out she's there. whether you invited her or not." she looks upset for what?

"you guys are acting like y'all can't make new friends. y'all are acting like I can't make new friends-" she puts her hand up to stop me from continuing.

"no one ever said that shit paige. we're all okay with making new friends, we're all okay with YOU making new friends. but none of us get a good vibe from her.

she's rude to everyone, especially me! i don't understand how you can't see that! you even asked for her to fly with us to the game tonight." i roll my eyes this time.

"because she said she's never been to minnesota, so i decided to ask for her to come so she could visit. and i- wait i know why you don't like her. you're jealous of her cause she getting close with me!" she huffs out a laugh.

"you think that's why i don't like her paige...really? need i remind you of the whole reason we met her in the first place?" she steps up to me poking my chest.

"because SHE decided to twist your fucking words making us almost lose our friendship paige. she was so fucking close to making me hate you. THEN after that when she was supposed to apologize to ME might I add, she ended up apologizing to YOU instead. and she decided to make fun of me as if i'm ugly and can't attract people whenever that café girl gave me her number."

at this point she glaring at me. "and even after that you decided to bring her to every hang out after everyone showed they don't like her. so excuse me and everyone else if we feel like we can't hang out or talk to you anymore cause every time we do she appears." we sit there in silence for awhile.

her fuming and im stunned. "i'm not going to argue with you over this paige. i don't like her and that's that, she even decided to try and threaten me to not hang with you anymore cause she wants you." i try to talk but she doesn't let me.

"i'm not going to force myself to like someone whenever deep down i know that i truly don't. so, if you wanna hang out with me and talk to me, fix that little issue first and we'll see what happens." and with that she walks away.

i stand there thinking about everything that just happen. did kenzie actually tell lexi that. "maddi! you coming in?" i hear my mom yell from the door.

i walk to the front door and greet her with a hug. "everything okay? sweetie?" she asks rubbing my back. i nod and walk to greet everyone else.

after i grab something to eat and hang, till i end up in the kitchen watching everyone enjoy themselves in the livingroom.

mainly alexis. has she always looked this good? like she's so gorgeous and looks flawless even after a whole basketball game.

as i'm caught up in my thoughts i feel and hand on my back. i turn to my left and see my mom. "what's up?" i give her a questioning look. "you seem really down mads, so tell me what's going on." i've always loved the nicknames my mom gave me.

they're all from my middle name which most people don't do. "i- i'm sure you've met kenzie earlier and talked to her a little bit." my mom raises her eyebrows

"well sure i've met the girl but i haven't really had a conversation with her. she's been trying to get drew to talk to her but has failed." i nod my head slowly and turn back to the livingroom.

"what's really going on paige, i can tell something is bothering you" i sigh and rest my forehead on the counter.

"it's alexis mom. i- i think i might like her but i can't really do anything about it because her and the whole team barley talks or hangs out with me anymore" i tell her honestly.

"mkay, and do you think there's a reason as to why?" i glance up at her and nod my head. she urges me to continue.

"it's kenzie...she's why." before i continued my step mom popped up on my right side. "i don't like her." my mom and i slightly jump from her appearance.

"jeez, you really don't make noise whenever you approach." my mom says holding her heart. "don't need to cause then i can catch people doing stuff they're not supposed to. anyways i don't like this kenzie girl." my mom nods her head.

"yeah i don't either to be honest. she seems very stuck up and rude. oh and she likes to kiss up to people." i shake my head at them.

"but continue with your story sweetie we're listening." my step mom says.

"we met at the end of one of our games, and she wanted an interview so i did the interview and the day it got posted lexi saw it but what i said wasn't posted but my words were twisted." my mom made a 'yikes' face.

while my step mom just nodded her head. "so lexi was obviously pissed cause i mentioned her and that was twisted and we almost stopped being friends. so i confronted kenzie and she apologized and i set up a plan for her to apologize to lexi." they both lifted an eyebrow at my statement.

i sigh and continued to explain everything that's happened up to today. "and she just walked off and then you called me in" they both nod and glance at each other.

"what?" my step mom sighs and rubs my back. "do you want a comforting mothers response or do you want advice?" my mom asked.

i thought for a second. "advice" she smiled at me. "i think you gotta set boundaries and space between you and kenzie. because obviously if not only alexis not like her but most of your team doesn't then there's something she's doing for them to feel like that." my step mom nods in agreement.

"there's something you're not seeing that they do and you gotta open your mind to that thought to understand. we're not saying just cut her off but boundaries are something that really need to be set in place." i nod and glance at lexi.

"yea i'll talk to kenzie tomor- no do it tonight." my mom said sternly.

i snap my head towards her confused. "why?" she gives me a blank face. "cause i want you and alexis together so the earlier you do that the earlier i can have that wish" she finishes and smiled at me.

she kisses my head and walks off and my step mom does the same. "take your time paige, we're all here to support you" and with that she walked off.

man did i have a lot of thinking to do...
