*Calvin's POV*

The worst part about having a brother?

I have to share.

Which means, it's his Haven day.

We're all having dinner tonight, then I'm taking her down on the beach for night swimming.

So I figured today would be a good day to spend it with my dad and Hannah.

Brayden and Haven left at like 7:30.

It is currently 9:30, and I am sitting in my kitchen eating whatever the hell was on the cookie sheet because holy fuck it looked good and tasted better than it looked.

When Hannah came walking in.

"Good, you ate." She smiled.

I raised my eyebrows. "Shit were those yours?" I pursed my lips.

"I made them for everyone." She laughed.

"What uh, what are they?" I took another bite.

"They're banana and caramel empanadas. They're my Mama's recipe." She smiled and sat down.

"I know your parents live in Boca Raton, but are you still close?"

She nodded. "Very. Calls twice a day, and they come visit every other month."

"I like that." I smiled. "Where's dad?"

"Oh. Your dad got called in to work this morning."

I sighed. "I'm sorry."

"No it's alright. He should be home by 4:30 he said. But, I was going to make all of us dinner tonight. The only problem, I have to go shop, and no clue where I'm going."

"If you don't mind walking, I can show you around." I slid my chair out. "Just give me a few minutes to shower, I'll grab the wagon and we can go." I smiled.

"Really?" She smiled.

"Yeah. I was going to spend the day with the two of you anyway, so now it's just you and I instead if you'd like."

"I would love that Calvin, thank you." She nodded.

I ran upstairs, showered and got dressed quickly, and grabbed the wagon off the back porch.

Hannah and I started our walk to town but honestly, I had so many questions for her it's unfathomable, so after half a walk of silence, I asked one.

"Can I ask you something?" I pursed my lips.

"Sure." She nodded.

"Dad said you're retired?"

"I am, yes."

"What are you doing now that you retired?"

She sighed and smiled. "I'm enjoying my Haven." She nodded. "With, the way Mike is, he wanted me to save my money while we were married, and he still does it because apparently, I gave him the best thing in his life, and I deserve to be treated as such, even though we are just friends, so I have quite the savings. I take care of the house still, and that's all he wanted. So now, I'm enjoying my life. Meeting new people, sharing these experiences with my baby. Loving everything I have."

I let out a small smile. "I like that you and Mike are still friends." I nodded.

"Best of." She nodded. "He's a great man. Amazing father. And I know if it came down to it, he'd come running."

"How does living together work though?"

"It's basically the same as when we were married, but so much different. The physical part of our marriage was gone a long time before we got divorced, and we were basically married friends. But now, we sleep in separate rooms, we don't go on dates with each other anymore, we parent Haven together, and believe it or not, my friendship with him grew when we got divorced."
