Layla's Perspective:

"Wassup girl, I done missed yo ass" Marquis pulled me into a hug, kissing my forehead

I already started feeling guilty.

"Why you look like that?" He asked curiously

"Nun, I just missed you a lot" I smiled and hugged him again

"Next time don't ignore my ass" he rolled his eyes

"Next time don't cheat!" I spat back

"How it's cheating if we ain't together?"

"Aight so let me go and do the same thing-" I started to say before he cut me off

"I'm playin"

"That's what I thought" I whispered after I heard his phone ring

"Give me a minute these annoying ass niggas is calling" he told me while answering his phone and walking to one of the many rooms in his house

After a few seconds I followed him and stood by the door, listening to his conversation.

"I told yo asses, make sho' everything run smoothly for that damn drop tomorrow" he growled

"It's the same damn spot, 11pm"

"Yea, that warehouse, the one by the damn docks" he responded angrily before ending the call so I quickly ran back to the living room

"Waddup baby" he said before taking a seat on the couch

"What's up" I smiled

"So what y'all gon do now that yo jobless asses got fired" he asked as he busted out laughing

"Nigga please!" I rolled my eyes

"We got money we been dancing fa a while now" I added

"Oh y'all callin it 'dancing' now huh?" He teased

"Man whatever. But listen though, I just dropped by to say hey and shit, I needa go back home and help my mama, she ain't feeling too well" I told him, needing an excuse to be away from him so I could text that damn officer

"She straight? I could tell sum was wrong wit you" he asked, looking concerned

"Ion know she ain't been sick like this befo'" I shrugged sadly

"You want me to take you there? I can get someone to bring yo car over tomorrow?" He offered with a serious look on his face

"No it's okay bae, I'll just go" I told him before giving him a hug

You made the right choice.

Sighing, I closed my phone.
Man I told Diamond's stubborn ass that this dumbass lifestyle wasn't a good idea but she didn't wanna fucking listen and now I'm risking my life over some bullshit!

Diamond's Perspective :
24 hours later

"I ever tell y'all I love y'all?" I asked Jamal and Mack as we headed our way to a restaurant
