10 AM

It had been two weeks since the incident with Brooks, hoping it would have died down by now, it was still all everyone could talk about. Why was it such a big deal? He was just a jerk and I handled it. Walking to my next class I passed Octavia, I hadn't talked to her since that day, she was still with Ace, of course, not surprised. I sat at my desk in chemistry next to a kid I didn't recognize. He was huge, masculine, and quiet, and I could see he had kind eyes.

"Parker Romano," I held out my hand awaiting his response,

"Romano?"

"Yep, last I checked," I smirked, hesitantly pulling my hand away as he didn't seem interested in shaking it.

He turned, tensed, slamming his fist on the table, "stay the hell away from me" he said darkly as he grabbed his bag and stomped to another chair. Before I had time to process what that was about, Octavia plopped in the chair next to me. I rolled my eyes and started to gather my things to sit at another table.

"Wait! Just listen," at this point, there were no other available chairs anyway so I guess I had no choice.

"Listening," I said reluctantly

"I was the one that told everyone you and Brooks slept together," I whipped my head so hard I thought I got whiplash, "before you kill me, I did it because I was mad that you were mad, and I was so stupid for that I am sorry, I should have broke it off with Ace a long time ago, I should have listened to you instead, I chose him over you, and that was wrong, I broke up with him because I wanted you back, it has been shit without you please forgive me." I thought for a moment about that day. Even though she spread the rumor, Brooks still was a jerk about it, it was immature of her to do that but regarding the situation, I gave in.

"Okay, I forgive you, but it will take me a while to trust you again."

She hugged me excitedly as class started.

5 PM

As I plopped myself in my chair at the table, I could feel the energy was off. Looking around I noticed my father was sulking and seemed... tense, this was unusual coming from my father as he was always a happy man. 

"Daddy, what's going on?" I chimed

"Mind your business Parker," he said furiously as he read over some documents and shoved another spoonful in his mouth. My father has never spoke to me in that way and I wasn't about to have him start now.

"I don't appreciate your tone, Father, I am concerned with your well-being, does not mean I deserve to be scolded," I said sternly still aghast at the way he spoke to me. He looked up sharply at me without moving anything but his eyes and I knew I was in for it. I had never seen him act this way except for one time when I was seven. He put his documents and fork down and folded his hands together. My mother and the twins froze and stared at my father anticipating an outburst.

"I did not raise my daughter to be a spoiled brat. You treat me with respect in my house young lady."

"I don't know what your problem is but that doesn't mean you can take it out on me"

"I can do whatever the fuck I want" My father rose to his feet as he said this slamming his fist on the table causing my mother to jump with fear. Startled by his reaction, I grabbed my keys and shot out the door. 'What the hell is his problem, has he gone psycho' I thought to myself as I rang Octavia's doorbell.

"Parker!" Octavia was shocked to see me, I waltzed in going off about what just happened until I spotted, him.

" What the hell is he doing here Octavia?" Pointing to the couch where Brooks sat lounging. Before Octavia could say anything I was already out the door and driving to our normal smoking spot. 'Has the world gone mad?' I thought this and decided to keep driving up the hill past our normal spot, I knew they would come looking for me there. I didn't stop until I got to the top, almost two hours out of town. I sat on the hood of my jeep, smoking a blunt and trying to forget all the shit that just went down when I saw a figure sitting near the edge. I decided to get their attention.
