Is it casual now? (Chaeyoung)

"Staying over again?"

You jumped at the sound, dropping a spoon onto the counter with an annoyingly loud clang. Turning, you saw Nayeon padding towards the kettle in her pajamas and pink fluffy slippers, holding a mug she must've brought from her room.

"Yeah, Chae is taking a nap so I'm making her a snack for later," you replied, chopping up fruit to add to a bowl of yoghurt.

Nayeon looked over to see what you were making and snatched some fruit from the chopping board. You rolled your eyes playfully but truthfully, you didn't mind. Over the past few months you had gotten to know Nayeon quite well and things like this were only to be expected with her.

"Strawberries after sleeping together?" She smirked. "Chaeyoung trains her girlfriends well."

Your eyes widened at her comment and you quickly go into defensive mode.

"We're not dating," you protested. "It's just a casual thing. We're not doing the whole labels—"

"Casual my ass," Nayeon interrupted. "Didn't the two of you spend the weekend visiting her parents last week?"

"I mean, yeah but why wouldn't I?" You asked. "Chae's mom wanted to take me to a new café she thought I'd like and she wanted to hear more about the vacation we were on."

"I wish you could hear yourself right now," Nayeon sighed, the kettle was almost boiling and she searched the cupboards for tea. "Look I'm going to be honest with you because you're my friend now and I care about you. You've been seeing each other for months and playing this whole no label game thing. You stay over a few times a week and you're in the kitchen wearing only her shirt and making her favourite food while you smell like you've ran a marathon. You either have major commitment issues and can't handle relationships or you don't love yourself enough to realize you deserve a relationship. Figure it out."

You were silent after that and Nayeon knew she must've gotten through to you on some level. Maybe you'd still be partially in denial about how things were between you and Chaeyoung but at least now she had began to plant seeds of doubt in your head to help you begin questioning things.

She didn't say anything else while she finished making her tea and opened the fridge for a midnight snack. Eventually you both heard a door creak and turned to see Chaeyoung leaving her room, wearing your tshirt and a random pair of shorts as she shuffled towards you in the kitchen. Once she was close enough, she wrapped her arms around you from behind and rested her chin on your shoulder. You leaned into her warm embrace, trying to forget the conversation you just had.

Nayeon was eyeing you both as she picked up her plate and mug, ready to leave.

"I see you're a strawberry princess in more than one way now, Chae," was all she said, making a vague gesture at you before returning to the kitchen.

"What does she mean?" You mumbled sleepily as she ran her hands around your stomach and for a second you allowed yourself to embrace the domesticity of the situation and pictured a future where you would do this in your own apartment.

"It means you're covered in hickeys," Chaeyoung deadpanned. She let go of you and you sighed at the loss of contact only for her to turn you around and brush a thumb along your collarbone. "Wow, I really did good this time."

You swatted her hand away, pretending to be annoyed when in reality you were anything but.

"You're lucky I have a few days off," you chastised her and there was some truth to that. A few websites had named you recently as Chaeyoung's secret girlfriend and while there wasn't enough articles to make you overly concerned, you couldn't really be seen out and about with hickeys all over you no matter who they were from.

"Mmm yeah I'm lucky that I get you to myself for a few extra days," she giggled, looking you up and down.

Time for a change of subject because you knew if you didn't then you would end up not getting any sleep at all. And you were finally beginning to fall victim to tiredness.

"I made you some food," you said, gesturing to the almost forgotten bowl of strawberries and yoghurt on the counter. She perked up seeing her favourite fruit and grabbed the bowl and spoon in one hand and took your hand in the other.

"We can have this in my room," she said, tugging your hand for you to follow her back. "We'll share it and then we can shower and change the sheets and sleep."

You nodded, allowing her to lead you back to the room. The bed was a mess with bedsheets completely out of place, making you blush as you thought about how your night had began. If you had to guess, it was about two in the morning now and you hoped sooner rather than later you would finally get some sleep. There was always something soothing about sleeping in Chaeyoug's arms, her body pressed close to yours always made you feel safe and secure which is probably part of the reason why you stay over so much.

But as Chaeyoung feed you strawberries and joked around with you, you couldn't help think of the conversation you had with Nayeon just before.

Why did Nayeon have to plant these seeds of doubt in your mind?
