I respected Magic more than anyone else. Probably even more than Seth. Even though she couldn't stand me. However, I understand her perfectly. I really gave them all a lot of trouble. That made it even more of a mystery to me why they kept me with them.

Magic had a special kind of resilience. Inexplicable, iron. Her hands, lips, and whole body never trembled. Just like her voice. It didn't matter what was going on around her.

Frankly speaking, I did not have a better mentor in the magical arts either before or after meeting Magic.

From time to time, I brought her various ingredients that I found in my outings. I kept something for myself, just in case. Once again, when I came to the chamber, I did not find her there. Then, I remember, it drove me into a stupor. I just stood there for a few minutes, like a real fool, and stared at the empty room.

I was about to leave, thinking that Magic had gone off on some business, but suddenly I heard, how should I say it... grunting? But, you know, it was... nice. And, probably, more of frisky sighs.

Listening, I realized that their source was very close to me, but not behind me. Because of this, I was even more confused – the whole room was easily visible from my place. Then I just decided to follow the sound.

It led me to a huge shelf that stood not far from the window. I began to look closely and soon discovered that to the left of it, not at all different from the wall, was a door. My eyebrows shot up – I had been working with the guys for a very long time, but I had no idea that there was another passage in Magic's chamber.

I was troubled by doubts when I finally managed – there was no handle on the door – to get inside.

It was quite a long and wide corridor, I would say. There were many huge windows along it – at that moment the sun was shining so brightly that beautiful shadows remained on the floor.

Perhaps this corridor used to lead somewhere, but now it has been completed, turning into a room.

Magic stood in the center of the room. She took various fighting positions and attacked with magic... I do not know, there were dummies, and some targets, and bags – a bunch of everything. After a couple of seconds, I noticed that she wasn't doing it with her hands... She had a wand.

I opened my mouth slightly – I had heard even less about magic wands than about capable witches and witchers.

I was amazed at how much strength, and at the same time, some elegance was in Magic's movements. The sounds that came out of her mouth, I finally figured out how to describe them – they sounded like a war cry.

"You're staring!"

Suddenly she exclaimed without turning around.

I shuddered.

"It's not the first time"

Magic turned around, breathing heavily, with a barely noticeable half-smile on her face.

"Sorry, I was looking for you...."

I pointed to the door behind me.

"...and suddenly I heard... I didn't even know there was another room here"

"O, yes"

She nodded, walking towards him.

"I train here, somehow there was no reason to tell you about it"

It became clear to me that no one was deliberately hiding this from me. It's just that there really wasn't any need for it.

"This is..."
