A faint smile flashed across Seth's face, and for some reason it made me laugh. It could be said that he really trusted us, since he allowed himself to show any signs of affection towards anyone. If his enemies had known that he cared so much about Magic, they would have blackmailed him long ago... On the other hand, Magic wasn't easy to catch.
"What are we waiting for?"
He threw it to us.
"Get ready"
Before he could leave the room himself, Magic grabbed his forearm. I slowed down.
"Don't make such a happy face"
She snorted.
"Happy?"
I could feel that Seth was having a hard time holding back a grin.
Magic restrained him with just her look.
"I just think you made the right decision."
"Only time will tell"
I had to hide around the corner – continuing to walk so slowly could have cost me my life.
"My absence doesn't give you carte blanche to be self-willed. Don't do anything stupid, okay?"
"I won't"
His tone still expressed satisfaction with the situation.
Magic's face turned stern again.
"I'm sorry"
He bowed his head.
"Everything will be fine"
I heard footsteps and immediately rushed to my room.
Hunter made Letha and me study the blueprints of the building down to the smallest detail. To be honest, every time my head almost burst, I was so afraid to forget something. Plus, the prison was really huge – and if I only needed to know part of the library plan, then here... well, that's another task.
The building was located on the outskirts of one of the most prosperous areas of our town. It had several floors, a lot of security and an underground tunnel – criminals used to be held there too.
As a result, a new plan of action had to be drawn up almost on the go – with the participation of Magic, we usually did not have such difficulties. First of all, Hunter and Seth had to scout the situation in order to figure out how it would be better for us to get inside – we refused an open visit.
The car had to be abandoned halfway through – we didn't have the magic to take care of hiding it. By the way, the trip turned out to be very calm. I think the atmosphere around us has always depended on Seth – his complacency saved us from any nervousness and fear.
The reason for his good mood was no secret – Magic agreed with him and stayed at the manor. I understood him, but at the same time I was still a little sad – I had already managed to get used to her being around all the time. Besides, her presence provided me with a sense of security.
We immediately went down into the sewer – this was how we could get into the underground corridor – but we were in no hurry to go.
"So, Letha, you're going to sneak in through the back entrance, as we discussed."
Seth was adjusting his gloves after descending the stairs.
Letha nodded vigorously.
"Hunter..."
Now he seemed somewhat puzzled. It was probably the absence of Magic again. It has become much more difficult to figure out who should go where.
"Why don't you walk around a bit before you join us?"
