As the worldwide tour was coming to its end in the UK, I was wondering what would happen between Brendon and I after we got back to the States. We were a couple now, even though there were still no labels attached. I wanted to give us one, but I wasn't sure how Brendon felt about it.
The day before the show, we arrived at the hotel. It was grey and wet here, but the people were very friendly. Brendon and I went to our room and dumped our bags.
"Alone at last." Brendon said and kissed me.
"Yea." I said and walked away from him. The hotel wasn't far from the venue and had a good view of the city. You could see for miles. I was looking out of the window. Brendon came and put his arms around my waist. I was nervous about having this conversation with him. I sighed and turned to face him.
"You ok, Ro?" He asked, his brow furrowing.
"Erm, yea. It's just....." I trailed off.
"It's just what?"
"Well, I think that I want to put a label on us. It's totally fine if you don't, but I do. I am ready to do that." I said really quickly. My eyes looked down at the very nice hotel carpet.
Brendon lifted my chin up with his index finger. "Robyn, I have been ready since the day we met. I love you. I want to marry you someday. I want to have a family with you." My breathing was shaky with nerves.
"Y-you do?" Brendon nodded, and we kissed. My anxiety calmed itself. We ended up making out and then making love.
I was so happy now. I had everything I had dreamed about since I was 14. I couldn't believe it. Brendon is the love of my life.

When we got home from the tour, I returned to Las Vegas. Brendon returned to LA. We hadn't discussed living arrangements yet, but I know I missed him. I had a physical ache. I was so used to being with him or someone 24/7 that I wasn't sure how to be alone. It's strange because normally I love the peace and my alone time.
About 3 days after I got home, I put some of the photos from tour on my online portfolio as well as my physical one. I even had some blown up and hung in the studio. The business was ticking along nicely. Eddie was in his element now. Michael thrived in his managerial position. I spoke to them and asked if they wanted to keep up this arrangement, and they both agreed. I gave them both a raise. I wanted more time to pursue my dream.
Thursday morning, and I was doing chores and laundry. Vic and Maya were both out of town with work commitments. Brendon was in Vegas on business and seeing his family. My doorbell rang. I answered the door, and there stood Sullivan.
"Hey Sully, how are you?" I asked, letting him come in. I had ended our situation a long time ago, yet we still remained friends. In fact, Sully was seeing a lovely lady called Rosie.
We both sat down. I made us both a soft drink each as we caught up.
"The main reason I came was because I wondered if I could get your opinion on something." Sully said.
"Ok." I smiled.
"Can you come into town with me?"
"Sure. Let me get something other than sweats on." I smiled and got changed. Las Vegas was getting very hot now. It was late spring, so temperatures were heating up. Sully parked up, and we got out. We went to a jewellery shop, and Sully walked in. I followed, and he explained that he wanted to propose to Rosie.
"Already?" I questioned.
"Yea, Rob, she's the one." I had tears in my eyes. I hugged him.
"Congratulations."
"Only if she says yes." Sully said, holding a finger up.
"Sully, she will say yes. You are made for each other." I sniffed and hugged him again.
We looked at the rings. He had narrowed it down to 2. One was a solitary diamond, and the other was a Ruby with diamonds in and around the setting.
"I am not sure about which one to pick." Sullivan said, looking at them. I put my hand on his shoulder and peered at both rings, next to each other.
"Which one says Rosie to you more?" Sullivan shrugged. "Ok. Close your eyes and empty your mind." Sully did as I said. "Ok, now think of Rosie and think of the rings. When you think of her, what ring does your mind go to?" Sully opened his eyes and grinned. He picked one of the rings up and purchased it.
After the ring purchase, I asked if Sullivan could take me to Walmart. I need more memory cards and photo paper. We went in, and I grabbed a cart. I normally bulk bought my photo paper. Sully wandered off to look at the power tools. As I looked around, I swore that I had spotted Brendon, but he was at his parents house. I shook my head and carried on. I put what I needed into the cart, them bought some condoms, to keep at my place, for when Brendon stayed over. I picked up a few more things, then went searching for Sullivan, who was still looking at power tools.
I said that I was done, and we went to check out to pay. As we put my things through, I noticed a security guard watching us. I was putting one pack of photo paper through but timesed it by 5. I did the same with the memory cards.
I paid, and we left the store. Sully dropped me off at home and left. As I took my supplies through to the office, my doorbell went again. I smiled, thinking Sully had forgotten something. I got a surprise when I saw Brendon stood there. He didn't wait for an invitation, he pushed past me. He looked mad.
I closed the door and followed Brendon into the living room. Brendon was looking in all my rooms.
"B? Are you ok?"
"Where is he?" He mumbled.
"Where's who?" Brendon ignored me. "Brendon!" He stopped, and he wouldn't look at me. I made my way towards him and put a hand on his shoulder. Brendon immediately tensed up. "Please talk to me, Bren!" Brendon spun on his heel and stared at me.
"Why were you in a jewellery shop today with a guy, looking at rings?"
"How did you know?" I asked. "Were you spying on me? It was you I saw in Walmart!"
"I am asking the questions!" Brendon exclaimed.
"Ok then, yea, I was with a guy in a jewellery shop today." Brendons face dropped.
"It was Sully. He asked me to help him choose an engagement ring. He's going to propose to Rosie, his girlfriend." I explained. " Not that I have to justify anything to you! As if you don't trust me! All that we have been through as friends and now this." I gestured between us. I shook my head. "I knew something was going to happen sooner or later, to fuck everything up. At least it's now and not further down the line. Go, Brendon."
"Rob-" He started.
"I said go!" The tears were starting to fall now. I didn't want Brendon to see me completely fall apart, but here we are. I sank to my knees. My heart shattered into pieces by the one person I never thought was capable of it.
