While gathering herbs with the assistance of Emberpaw, Lilytail spots a tiny trail of pawprints in the snow. Following them, they find a kit no more than a moon old on the border and take him back to camp. Lilytail can't stop staring at the kit as they walk, as if she's spotted something familiar but can't quite figure out what. Melodickit (ffaeerie ) has joined the clan!

Troubled by the growing number of hunting patrols that have been returning empty pawed, Speckledstar goes out hunting by himself and gets caught in a snowstorm. For a brief moment in the snow he struggles to move, his vision going black as he hears the murmurs of spirits around him before he wakes up again and stumbles back to camp.

(Speckledstar has lost a life after freezing to death in the snow. He now has frostbite scarring on his tail and left ear, but recovered from the actual frostbite rather quickly)
