Annie ended up staying the night, and Athena needed the company. But this also meant they were able to go for breakfast together before they headed to work, Athena driving while Annie finished off her McDonald's breakfast in the passenger seat, because god forbid someone at Vought see her eating something with calories. Out of no where Athenas phone started blowing up, the pings from the device interrupting their little jam sesh to the radio "Annie grab my phone and see what the fuck is going on." Athena only had google alerts on for anything related to The Seven, Annie took the phone and looked at the alerts, it seemed that during Homelander and Maeve's filming of the military commercial, a new hero had shown up, filming live on instagram as she announced that she was the newest member of The Seven, to replace translucent. "Her names 'Stormfront', she just turned up on set and called it out for being fake." Annie laughed sounding impressed, it seemed this 'Stormfront' had a very subversive attitude when it came to obeying Vought.
The two exited the car, Athena throwing her keys to the Valet as they walked into the tower, heading upstairs where a storm was waiting for them. There had never been three females in The Seven and Vought was being quick to capitalise on this new wave of feminism they could push. Ashley and Ashley came quickly over the Quantum, taking the hero away from her sister, who was taken over to who she assumed was Stormfront, and Maeve. The Ashleys started rushing through everything Starlight would be doing in terms of "Girls get it done" the new platform they were creating for the women of Vought, Athena looked over everything, it seemed like the usual promotional stuff, nothing out of the ordinary, so she signed off on it. The trio of superheroes were ushered downstairs to start doing their photoshoots and interviews, Athena stood on the sidelines observing, helping to make sure Annie was okay as they made her retake lines in the interviews and poses. Once the first part was done, the five woman started to walk to the next set for the TV interviews, but Maeves phone started to buzz, Athena watched as she took the phone out and her face drop slightly.
"Iv'e got to go, emergency." She stated, putting her phone away. "Wait no-you can't go, what about 'Girls get it done'?" Ashely stressed trying to convince her to stay, Maeve gave Athena a look and she knew that it was something to do with Elena, no one could make Maeve look so worried and drop everything at work for her. Maeve left leaving a very stressed out Ashley for Quantum to deal with. "Let's just move on Ashley we can still do it with two."
The next set was more of a proper interview setting with seats, Annie was scripted to say the same thing but for different TV stations and it was easy to tell that Annie was growing tired of the process, "Starlight do you wanna take a minute." Quantum cut everyone off to give the women a minute to breathe "Or do you wanna power through?" Ashely butted in, earning a glare from Athena. "I'll just power through-" Annie tried to say but her sister wasn't having it "Can we get all the girls some water please and a snack, we can't be having Supes passing out on set can we?" a murmur of agreements came from across the set, and the women were given a recess, a bottle of water being provided along with a selection of low calorie snack, how typical. "Your sister's pretty cool." Storm front leaned over to Annie, pointing at Quantum who was talking to Ashley and some of the producers about something. "Yeah she's great." Starlight agreed,, watching as Athena was getting frustrated demanding some actual stuff for the girls to eat.
The interviews continued until a phone started to ring from Stormfronts backpack that she had on the back of her chair, 'what was it with phones today?' Athena thought as she listened to Stormfront offer a very insincere apology as she took the phone out of her bag, mocking the costumes that they had to wear "You can practically see up Starlights uterus-You want to talk about girl power, let's talk about getting some pockets." She emphasised causing Starlight to cover her mouth as she laughed, she really liked the woman's 'Stick it to the man' attitude."Even Quantum doesn't have pockets and she's got a modest costume." The camera panned over to Athena and she was like a deer in headlights, offering a small laugh as a repsonse. She had a point though, she was sick of keeping everything in her bra.
"Starlight" The interviewer continued your teammate, A-Train, has been out of the public eye. Vought recently revealed that he was on a top secret mission in Kandahar. Are you worried about him?" Annie cleared her throat before answering "Yeah, of course.I pray for him every night. America really is lucky to have such a brave hero fighting for them." It was true, Annie kept visiting the comatose man even after what he had did, she felt guilty even though it wasn't her fault he had a heart attack, it was his own for shooting up Compound V like it was some kind of steroid. Athena didn't realise why A-train was coming up in conversation, there was nothing on the run down Ashley gave her that mentioned it.
The interviewer smiled, as if she was hoping for that exact answer, "What if I told you he's right behind you?" A sonic boom sounded and A-train appeared on set, looking as chipper as ever, as if he hadn't been recovering for the past few weeks, "Here comes the A-Train!" Reg did his signature pose taking in all the applause and cheers from everyone on set, Athena slowly clapped, watching intently as Annie got up to greet A-train, an awkward hug ensuing between the two, Athena could see the panic behind Annies eyes, because now he was awake, he was able to talk, and he could choose to rat Annie out for being the one to help The Boys escape. "Welcome back." She chuckled awkwardly through gritted teeth. "Mhm." A-train smiled, moving past Starlight to greet Stormfront for the first time.
Once the interview was over there was set the be a welcome home party for A-train, "What the fuck?" Annie exclaimed as the elevator doors closed for her and Athena. "Annie I had no idea, there was nothing saying A-train was going to miraculously appear! Wait till I get ahold of Ashley." Athen made a gesture of squeezing a neck as she spoke, this just threw a massive spanner into the works, Annie was so close to getting the 'V' and now she had to worry about A-train watching her every move. "Let's just get this party over with so we can focus on getting 'V' out." Athena gripped her fist, Annie noticed and placed her hand over her, "We've got this" she reassured.
