The sight that was met by the group when they reached their destination made Athena queasy, there was a dead whale, a boat had torn straight through it leaving a trail of guts and blood spattered everywhere "Jesus Christ." Homelander groaned in disgust, Athena joined him, but not at disgust for the whale, but for the man crying over it, The Deep. "This fuckin asshole." Athena practically snarled, Annie wasn't too happy either, glaring daggers at the man as the lingered at the back of the group, watching on as Deep cried to Homelander about 'Lucy' the whale, Athena had sympathy to the animal of course, but Deep put her in that situation and now she was dead, if only it was the other way round.
"I'm so sorry. I was just, like, gonna try to stop them. I tried to cut them off..." So Stan was right, the Boys were here, which meant Butcher was too. Knowing he was so close made her hair on the back of her neck stand on end. "Where the fuck did they go?" Homelander asked frustrated with the mans whining "I think they went off in the storm drains.Can't be too far." Everyone started walking to the large open drain in front of them, barely sparing Deep a glance, until Annie and Athena started walking past him "who invited you, exactly?" Annie spat, arms folded as she looked at her assaulter, if it wouldn't impact the mission Athena would've blasted him then and there, but that wasn't what she was here for today. "Starlight. Listen, what I did was unforgivable." Athena snorted at his words, of course it was unforgivable , she looked to her left to see that Stormfront had also stopped with them, and Maeve, all these women, against one woman abuser. "I'm going to do everything in my power to renew my light. Not just for you but for all the female people that I've offended." Stormfront dropped her arms "Renew your light"? she repeated "Did you just fucking join the Church of the Collective?" Athena had heard of that, it was some religious thing and she was not one for religion.
After more slander and dirty looks towards the man they strutted past him, Athena shoulder barging him on her way, causing him to fall into the whale guts, cruel but fair. Homelander, A-train and Noir were waiting at the entrance of the tunnel for the women, "Anyone gets eyeballs on the target, he's mine, understood?" Everyone either hummed or nodded in response to the leader. "Let's go then." Athena started walking first, hopefully she found the boys before the other so she could tell them to get the fuck out of there, but fate had other plans as Homelander started walking alongside her, "So why exactly are you here, hm?" He asked, Athena kept her face forward, not meeting his eyes as he questioned her. "Considering how dangerous this Supe terrorist-" he corrected her "Super-Villain"
"Yes, Super Villain. Mr Edgar wanted me to accompany, considering The Seven is only six members at the moment." she lied, masking her heart rate and elevated pulse as she lied to the man who could most certainly kill her, she was able to heal other from wounds but when it came to herself it was very limited if it wasn't bullets, and Homeland's laser eyes were a lot stronger than bullets. He seemed satisfied with her answer and remained silent as they continued to walk, eventually splitting off individually to search the tunnels. It wasn't a very pleasant experience, but using her powers to split the small amount of sewage water on the ground into a path so she didn't walk in it made things a little bit better. She envied starlights powers right now because at least she was able to have some light in there, particle blast had a dim glimmer to them at best.
She walked for around fifteen minutes before she heard some voices as she turned a corner, seeing Annie with Hughie lying on the floor in front of her, and Homelander towering them both. "You kill him, or I fucking kill you both." He said, holding Annies hands up to aim at Hughie. "You won't touch either of them Homelander." Athena came fully into view, two particle blasts in hand and a gust of wind behind her. "Now, now Quantum, I was just teaching your little sister here how to handle things properly- you know, like you used to do." Now he crossed the line, bringing up her past was one thing, but using it as a reason to intimidate her sister was another. Before she could say anything else, that British voice she had dreaded to her came from the shadows. "Oi cunt."
Homelanders eyes widened, he knew exactly who it was "William?" he smiled turning around to greet the tortured man, Athena turned as well to see Butcher covered head to toe in Lucys insides. How lovely. "What a surprise." Homelander laughed, and turned to Quantum "Keep those blasts ready, he's a feisty one." She obeyed, it would be too suspicious if she didn't. Hey. You know, I had a great breakfast with your wife this morning. Pancakes." If this was a Tv show Athena would have her hands covering her mouth at how foul that was, the man really had no soul. Athena wanted to give Butcher a look of pity but she kept her eyes lowered, not wanting to look into his eyes, there was no way of knowing how this would go.
"Yeah?" Butcher stepped to the side allowing a man she hadn't seen before come out and raise his hands "Eat this, motherfucker." On que the man (which she guessed was the 'terrorist') made the floor drop out from underneath Homelander and Quantum, upon feeling the ground shake, she jumped forwards to avoid it, narrowly missing the hole in the ground, an arm grabbed her and pulled her in while the man made the ceiling collapse in on Homelander swell, pushing him down the hole with force. Athena looked to see whose chest she had slammed into, and of course it was him..." Hello Love." he greeted, that signature side smirk prominent on his face. She quickly pushed him away, not offering him any words while she wiped the blood that had transferred onto her off of her suit. "Hi Boys." She greeted to the others, they all looked between her and Billy, eyebrows raised at their odd interaction.
Frenchie seemed more than happy to see the woman that had saved him. "Bonjour ma deesse" he smiled, going to take her hand but realising he too had whale guts on him. "Hello Frenchie, you look well." she smiled. Kimiko smiled and offered a wave, that's when Athena noticed how similar Kimiko and the man looked, and also the protective vibe that was being given off. "He's her brother?" she concluded, everyone nodded in response. "As much as we'd love to stay and chat, we should go before that cunt gets out." Butcher gestured to the hole in the floor, but as everyone was ready to go, Butcher retrieving Hughie from the ground and Athena making Annie float over the debris and to her, (it was a shame she couldn't fly) Kimiko made a commotion as her brother scaled up out of the tunnels.
"Fuck!" MM cursed, Kimiko went straight after him, but they couldn't follow her, they needed to get out of there before Homelander got to them. "This way out." Annie created a ball of light ready to lead everyone out when Athena put her arm out stopping her. "Annie you can't- not with The Seven here, you need to go back to them, I'll take these guys out, and if anyone asks tell them I'm in pursuit." Annie nodded, running back into the tunnels and disappearing from sight. "Let's get you guys outta here."
