At the breakfast table you could hear the all the sounds from all the clocks in the house, for somehow the room with the most people was the most quiet of all.
"Master Bates," Mrs. Crawley said, "What a marvelous addition to the family"
"If you think so" the Dowager scoffed.
"My mother is right," Mathew said confidently, "We welcome you to the family."
"Shut up Mathew, nobody asked you," Lady Mary said, "besides, this means that you are no longer our cousin, now we can go back to having intercourse without it being incestuous, though I think Edith enjoyed watching us."
Lady Edith smiled sweetly, "Carson, where is my typewriter?"
"In the drawing room Miss." Carson replied.
"Please bring it to me, I'd like to write a column about Lady Mary and weather or not I think she should have never been born."
"The town would definitely be pleased to see it," said Master Bates. "They do cherish women's opinions."
"I know I do" Sybil replied.
Lady Grantham smiled widely and bobbed her head around.
"Unlike I," Lord Grantham declared proudly, and everyone left the table, going off to do very important sitting around.
"Now your lordship, I'd like to discuss the dinner this evening." Carson told Lord Grantham.
"What about it Carson?"
"Miss Pattmore has gone completely blind sir"
"What about the surgery?!"
"It made her go deaf sir."
"I thought it was cataracts."
"That would be awkward if it was sir because I was told to remove her ears."
Carson exited the room.
