TW: Minor mention of smoking.

Rody makes it to his apartment eventually and decides to just go to sleep.

Plus, he'll probably barely get any sleep tomorrow. Closing up the shop is a hard job. Firstly, all of the keys are set up on one side of the kitchen counter in the kitchen. Most of them get covered in grease or pepper, salt, etc. Then you spend the rest of it doing tasks.

Rody washes up and brushes his teeth, then goes to sleep on the couch. The next day was pretty slow. He didn't see Vincent at all that day.

Near the end of the day, once all the customers left. Paxton left in a hurry, Arlene stayed until she left. Hans and some other staff members left as well. It was just Rody and the manager.
"Ok, so you know what to do, right? Just take out the trash and look around for anything out of place. And keep the teenagers from doing art on the wall at the back of the restaurant, alright? They use chalk. Remember that."

They tell him, and he nods.

"Ok then, see you tomorrow."

They say and leave through the front. Rody stands there for a moment before sighing.

As he goes through his tasks. Once he's outside at the back of the restaurant looking out for the kids. He notices a lighter on the ground. Picking it up, he thinks it's one of the workers. Some of them smoke often, and he just put it inside on the kitchen counter.

He hears something outside. Rody peers out the door and sees three kids with chalk scraping it against the brick wall.

"Hey!"
Rody yells out, and they run away, dropping some of the chalk. He walks over and picks the pieces up.  He looked around to see if anyone else was around. Before heading back inside.

9:30. The time when he's allowed to leave. It's 9:20 right now. He'll be able to leave soon. Rody looks around the outside in the back. He goes around the restaurant and finds the key sitting in a cabinet.

Rody locks the front door and backdoor. Then leaves for the night.

The street is cold when it's completely dark. A few people are out, but not too many. They pass by most not saying hello or paying attention to where they're going.

He holds the key in his pocket. He's putting it back the next morning. As always.

"Rody!" Someone calls out behind him. Rody flinchs for a moment before turning around to see Vincent.
"Hey." Vincent waves slowly at him, and Rody waves back. There's some sort of panic and relief rushing through him. The relief is that it's no one trying to rob him or something. The panic is that he just doesn't really wanna see Vincent. The panic is something he can't explain.

"Hi!"
Rody yells.

Vincent walks over, and they both continue walking.

"It's pretty late. What're you doing out?"

Vincent asks, and Rody sighs.

"Closing shift. I told you yesterday, what're you doing out?"

"I'm just walking, I guess."

He says and Rody nods.
