CHAPTER 24
The Northern castle loomed ahead, its tall spires piercing the sky. As George approached, he was struck by the stark contrast between this place and his own kingdom. The North was vibrant, with well-maintained buildings and streets bustling with activity. The people here seemed happy and content, a stark difference from the sullen faces he was used to seeing.
Upon reaching the gates, George was greeted by a pair of guards. "State your business," one of them demanded.
"I am George of the Eastern kingdom. I seek an audience with Lady Octavia," George replied, trying to keep his voice steady.
The guards exchanged glances but nodded. "Follow us," one said, leading George through the gates.
As they walked through the castle grounds, George couldn't help but marvel at the beauty around him. The gardens were lush and meticulously cared for, with flowers in full bloom and fountains sparkling in the sunlight. Servants moved about with purpose, their faces relaxed and cheerful. This was what a kingdom should look like—a place of prosperity and peace.
The guards led George into the castle itself, where the grandeur continued. The halls were adorned with tapestries depicting historical events, and the floors were polished to a shine. As they walked, George noticed the respect and camaraderie among the castle's inhabitants. It was clear that Octavia ruled with a fair and just hand.
"You will wait here," one of the guards said, gesturing to a sitting room. "Lady Octavia will see you shortly."
George nodded and took a seat, his nerves starting to settle. He looked around the room, admiring the tasteful decor. It was a far cry from the cold, imposing rooms of his own castle.
Suddenly, movement in the corridor caught his eye. A woman walked past, her long hair flowing behind her. George's heart skipped a beat as he recognized her. "Sasha?" he whispered, his eyes wide with shock.
He jumped to his feet, rushing out of the room. "No more ghosts," he muttered to himself. "I did nothing to her."
"Sasha!" he called out, his voice echoing in the corridor. The woman turned, and George's breath caught in his throat. It was indeed Sasha, very much alive and well.
"George?" she replied, her eyes widening in surprise.
"I thought you were dead," George said, his voice barely above a whisper. "We all thought you were dead."
Sasha smiled softly. "I’m not dead, George. I was framed for killing the king of the West. To protect myself and our kingdom, I had to go into hiding."
"But why? What happened?" George asked, still trying to process the revelation.
"It's a long story," Sasha said. "Come with me. I’ll explain everything."
George followed her down the corridor, his mind racing. They entered a small, cozy room where Sasha motioned for him to sit.
"After the king of the West was found dead, I was quickly accused of the murder," Sasha began. "Kimberly and the others from the West used this as an opportunity to manipulate when I looked at her she didnt seem all that hurt but who knows . They framed me to weaken our kingdom and create chaos."
"So you faked your death?" George asked, incredulous.
"Yes," Sasha confirmed. "It was the only way to make them believe they had succeeded. With me 'dead,' they thought they had the upper hand. But it also gave us the chance to regroup and think of the real killer without their interference."
"And Octavia? She knows about this?" George inquired.
Sasha nodded. "She’s been a crucial part of the plan. Together, we've managed to keep the kingdom safe and thriving. But now, with you here, things might change."
George took a deep breath, absorbing everything. "I came here to seek help. To make things right. Our kingdom is in turmoil, and I want to stop the cycle of violence."
Sasha smiled warmly. "Then you’re in the right place. Octavia will help you. We all will. It’s time to unite our strengths and bring true peace to our lands."
As they spoke, the door opened, and Octavia entered, her presence commanding yet kind. "George," she greeted, her eyes full of understanding. "I’m glad you came."
George stood, feeling a sense of purpose. "Thank you, Lady Octavia. I'm sorry about last time. I didn't mean for things to get out of hand."
Octavia nodded, her expression softening. "It's okay, George. I understand. We were all under a lot of pressure. But I need you to help me now. I can see in your eyes that this isn't who you truly are, even though I don't really know you. Will you help me change our destiny for all the kingdoms?"
George felt a wave of determination wash over him. "Yes, Lady Octavia. I will help you. Together, we will bring about the change our kingdoms so desperately need."
"Together, we will," Octavia replied, her voice resolute. "This is the beginning of a new era for our kingdoms."
"What will the east do once they hear about me giving up with this evil intentions". George mumbled
