Ian’s POV

I couldn’t help the terrible scowl on my face as I left my office and went to the lecture hall. Teaching history was one of my favorite things since I had come to the human world. It was fun, and I loved the look on my students faces whenever I told them something they haven’t even expected to hear before. Plus it helped me remember all that had happened since I was born. A very very long time ago.

But why was getting me annoyed was the fact that I had to see her again today. She had run away after I saw her in that club last week and I hadn’t even seen her since then. I still didn’t know her name. I didn’t know how I was supposed to get her name. Maybe I’d have to ask one of the students, or I have to ask her directly.

Or I could just devise a smarter way of getting her name. I’d have to think about that later. I should probably think about all the amazing historic things that I was going to teach the students today. But I wasn’t particularly in high spirits today. I haven’t seven fed since last week. And that was kind of a terrible thing especially since I’m going to be around a few humans thought the rest of the day. Luckily I had filled my bottle with blood, just in case I had the urge, which I desperately hoped I didn’t.

I walked into the lecture hall and dropped my things on the table. Her scent hit me instantly. It was as if the gods had something against me. As if they were trying to play some sort of game on me by making her be the first thing I noticed whenever I was in this class.

I walked around the desk and rested my body on it, crossing my arms and my legs as I looked at the students. “Good morning ,” I said curtly. “Without wasting much time,” I paused, looking around the room until I saw her sitting in the same spot he had been sitting last week. I inhaled again and her scent hit my nice. Vanilla.

I could see her cleavage from where I was standing and my breath caught in my throat. A weird sense of protectiveness came over me. What did I expect? I had marked her as mine anyways.

I wanted to fully see what she was wearing but I couldn’t see that now. I’d just see it when she was leaving the class, if I didn’t run out before her this time.

“Let’s start today’s class,” I said at last and turned away from them, facing my laptop and connecting it to the projector. I showed why I was about to teach them on the screen and began.

After teaching them all, I decided to make an announcement that was solely in my favor. I still had an hour left and I was determined to use my two hours of teaching completely.

“So every week, you all will be having tests on everything I have thought you that week,” I announced and they were all silent. “Like today. Put your books, phone and other things in your bag and drop them on the floor. The only thing I want to see on your desk is the sheet of paper and pen that you will use to write.”

Murmuring rose in the class and I rolled my eyes as I crossed my arms. “Keep making noise and I can assure you all, you will fail this class, and come back to retake it next year.”

My eyes met hers and she was already obeying the rules, a sheet of paper and her pen on the table while she bent and dropped her bag on the floor.

I watched as the rest of the class grumpily did the same till I was sure that everyone’s bag was on the floor. “You’re to summarize all that I have taught you today,” I told them. “Every single important detail.”

I disconnected my laptop from the projector and turned it off so that wouldn’t be a way for them to cheat. “You have forty five minutes to be done with this test. Use your time properly.”

Their heartbeats was strongly distracting and I was hungry. I turned away from them and picked up my bottle. I began to sip from it as I turned back and watched all of them. My eyes landed on her again and I could see the discomfort on her face. Was she sick? Was I the one making her uncomfortable? I believed it was the latter.

I waited till it was five minutes till the time was over before I moved towards them and started collecting their scripts one by one. I got to her and her vanilla scent hit me again. I looked at the name. Sophia Anderson.

Sophia.

Her hands were trembling slightly as she handed me her script and she wouldn’t look at me. I took it from her and added it to the scripts of the ones I had collected.

I took the scripts of all the students and went back to the table, at the same time she was leaving. I stared at her as she left. She was dressed in a white, body-con dress that stopped mid-thigh.

The dress was hugging her curves tightly. It was long sleeved but had a very low neckline. Her hair was in a low bun and she had paired the dress with black flats.

Her hair was a different texture than it was the day I had fucked her. And I seemed to like this texture more.

I shook my head slightly. Had she dressed this way solely to test me. And there was still the mark I had given her on her neck. It wasn’t very visible but it was still there.

Had she dressed like this to get my attention? I remained in the lecture hall and her script was the first thing I decided to mark.

A scowl appeared on my face when I realized she had barely written anything on the paper. She had failed the test. Didn’t she realize this?

I rubbed my forehead in frustration. I made findings on the courses she took. And her lecturers told me she was very bright, one of the brightest students in their classes.

Then why was she failing my class? It only meant one thing. She was distracted by me. Just as distracted by me as I was distracted by her.
