Sophia’s POV

I turned around on my bed lazily, my body feeling very week. I had slept quite late because I was binge watching game of thrones with Jenny, who was still very much asleep and enjoying her sleep while me, the early riser, was on the bed, feeling weak and now unable to sleep.

I sighed as I turned around on my bed once again, wanting nothing but to sleep but I couldn’t bring myself to sleep. I was going home today to visit my parents. Simon was sick and I couldn’t just stay here. My mind hasn’t been at rest ever since I heard that he was sick and I wanted to go home to see him and be sure that he was going to be fine.

Plus Sarah wouldn’t stop crying that her twin was sick and I didn’t really like seeing her cry like that. I didn’t like seeing any of my family in tears.

With a sigh, I forced myself to sit up on the bed and I looked around the room. The time read six thirty-two am on my digital clock. Today was Saturday.

I sighed and checked my phone. There was already a good morning text from Ian. My heart skipped a beat and I replied his text. “Good morning.” I texted back.

“I’m going home today.” I sent too.

His text came him almost immediately. “Today?? You didn’t tell me that you were going home.”

“It’s impromptu. My little brother is sick.” I sent an explanation.

“And when will you be back?” He asked.

“Monday morning. I’ll book a morning flight back so I’ll arrive before my first class.” I explained.

“Text me when you get home.” He answered.

“Alright.” I texted back and dropped my phone on the bed then got up from the bed. I walked to the bathroom and took my bath then brushed my teeth before walking back into the room.

I applied my body cream and lotion then oiled my hair and made it into a quick bun then dressed in jeans and a shirt. I packed a few necessities quickly into a bag and slung it over my shoulder and then wrote a note for Jenny to see when she wakes up.

I didn’t want to be the one to wake her up just yet. I left the dorm and got to the train station just in time to buy the ticket and board the train.

It was two pm when I got home. I was very exhausted and I wanted to sleep. Lazily I raised my hand and knocked the door.

The door opened a few seconds later and Sarah was standing in front of me with a dull look which instantly brightened up when she realized it was me..

“Sophia!” She squealed, coming out and wrapping her arms around me in a hug.

“Baby girl,” I answered with a chuckle and broke the big. I leaned down slightly to kiss her cheek. “You seem to have grown taller. What are you eating anyways?”

“Just normal food,” she answered with a shrug and took my hand, dragging me into the hospital. I walked in and dropped my bag on the floor. Dad was in the kitchen, cooking. He paused when I came in and left what he was cooking, rushing over to me. “Sweetie. You’ve arrived,” he said, kissing my cheek.

“Hey dad,” I greeted. “Where’s mom and Simon?”

“They’re at the hospital,” he answered with a sigh.

“The hospital?” I repeated with a screech. “Is it that serious?”

“Not so serious but we took him to the hospital just to be on the safer side, and so he can receive proper medical care” He explained. I nodded in understanding and then sighed.
