Jenny’s POV
I was tired of being in Ian’s house 24/7. It was boring. And bring locked up in a house was not something I was very used to. I didn’t like staying here. Not at all.
I dressed up in the tightest dress of mine I could find and combed my hair, letting it down then wore my heels and took my phone. I walked down the stairs and halted when I saw Ian sitting there.
“Has Sophie spoken to you?” He asked without even looking up from his laptop.
“Not yet,” I replied slowly and he just nodded stiffly. I acted casual and continued walking to the door when he finally raised his head and assessed me from head to toe.
“You can’t leave the house, sorry,” he said to me flatly in a tone that indicated it would be wise to not argue with him. But I wasn’t ready to let him boss me around.
“Yes, I can. And I am,” I answered flatly, narrowing my eyes at him.
“You can’t,” he deadpanned.
“And why is that?” I demanded.
“The people who were trying to kill Sophie might be trying to kill you too. As far as you’re apart of my world now, then you’re in danger,” he murmured.
“But you already killed her,” I reminded him slowly. “You killed your betrothed who wanted to harm Soph.”
“There are other people,” he answered with a shrug. “And I don’t want to be responsible for your death.”
I scoffed, shaking my head. “You can’t be serious right now.”
“I am. Sorry,” he answered flatly, his focus going back to whatever he was doing on his laptop.
“Unless Jacob goes with you,” he added, raising his head and staring at me. “That’s the only way I can let you leave, if Jacob is protecting you.”
I glared at him. I hated Jacob but that’ll have to do. “Fine,” I grunted.
I couldn’t believe my eyes. Ronan was here, and he was with another girl, not the one I caught him with the last time. He met my eyes and a smirk appeared on his lips as he wrapped his arms around the girls waist and pulled her closer to him.
I gulped, looking away as I felt my eyes sting. I couldn’t believe this. Ronan was here and he seemed to have moved on just fine. Yet I was the one here still hung up on me.
I think I had fallen in love with who I thought he was. And that was why I was finding it so hard to move on from him.
Fuck.
I shouldn’t have come out tonight. I should have just stayed in my guestroom at Ian’s house and just cried myself to sleep or binge watch a series till I fall asleep.
I had thought coming out here today will help me feel better but it turns out I was seriously wrong. It wasn’t helping me feel better at all. If anything, I felt worse. Especially with what I was seeing.
I looked at Ronan again and he slammed his lips on the girl’s lips, kissing her bard like the wanted to tear off her clothes and fuck her right in front of everyone. And I knew what he was trying to do. He was trying to make me jealous. But he didn’t need to go that far. He already succeeded.
I should have just stayed at home while Ian said I should. I should have just stayed at home and tried to talk to Sophia…maybe she’ll want to talk to me too and I could just tell her about everything that had happened to me.
But no. I decided to be stubborn and I come here. Now this was what I get for coming here.
A tear slid down my cheeks and I wiped it off, looking away.
