Sophia’s POV

I laid on my bed, staring up at the ceiling and feeling bored. It felt weird, being in the dorm with Jenny alone and not having anything to do. The exams had finished and the dorm was mostly empty, making it quiet unlike other times when it was always noisy, especially on Mondays when all of us were awake like at the same time and struggling to be quick to meet tuo with our classes.

It felt weird not having to worry about my usual history tests on Monday morning.

What felt even weird was the fact that I wasn’t going to be at home for the holidays this year since my parents and siblings weren’t at home. It was just Jenny and I together this time and as much as I loved the idea, it still delt weird. I turned around on my bed with a sign and picked up my phone. It was done charging so I unplugged it from the charger and then unlocked my phone. I already had a series of messages from Sarah, most of which were photos on how much she was enjoying her time at our grandparents place.

I sent her a text and then opened Ian’s chatbox. I texted him good morning and I was about to drop my phone when his reply came in.

“Morning, Red,” he had replied.

My cheeks heated at the nickname. He had never called me that before so it came as a bit of surprise. I wasn’t expecting that.

I ran my hands through my hair and smile as I checked the time. It was just seven thirty in the morning and he was already awake.

“Don’t you ever sleep?” I texted and sent him the text. His call came in instantly.

“Hello red,” he greeted and I grinned. The nickname was really unexpected.

“Red?” I asked. I was sure he could hear the grin in my voice. “It used to be…” I trailed off, trying to remember what he used to call me. ”Sweetie, isn’t it?”

“Well now it’s Red,” he replied and I giggled.

“Don’t you ever sleep?” I asked my earlier question.

“I could be asking you the same. Why are you awake by seven thirty?” He asked.

“Nothing…I don’t exactly sleep in,” I answered him.

“Well me too,” he answered and the line went silent for a few minutes. “Do you have plans for today?”

“Not exactly,” I answered slowly. “Although I don’t know if Jenny already has something planned out for she and I so I can’t really say.”

“Well I was going to invite you to come and spend the week with me,” he answered. I could imagine him shrugging.

“And leave Jenny all alone here? No thank you,” I answered with a light laugh. I wanted to say yes but I couldn’t leave Jenny all alone here and go out to enjoy with him.

“Doesn’t she have a boyfriend?” He asked.

“Not exactly,” I answered, shaking my head even though he can’t see me.

“Does that mean yes or no? I thought she had a Ronan that she was alwHs going out to meet?” He asked.

“Yeah well she might not be going out to meet him today so I have to stay with her and see whether we’re going to have fun or we’re just going to remain all cooped up in the room,” I answered with a shrug.

“And what does having fun ential?” He asked.

“Umm…I don’t know. That’s depending on Jenny. It might be sitting here and watching a movie or just gong out to eat or to the movies,” I answered.
