"julia, abby, what are you doing" niylah asks. "that's not julia and abby" indra states. "very good. since we got our nightblood despite what i'm told you did with kane. now you have 3 seconds to stand down" i say. "or what? if you kill them, we kill you. you didn't think this through" i move the gun closer to gaia's head. "1"

"2" "weapons down now" i smile as i look at russell. "told you, julia's memories may suck, but they do come in handy"

we force everyone into the mess hall, one guard has jackson and one has aurora and clarke. they push them in there and elizas eyes widen in terror. i hold onto gaia keeping the gun close to her. "how many more of you are awake?" simone asks, "none" indra says. "you sure? we'll sweep the ship and anyone we find dies, and for each of them so does one of you. care to amend your answer?" simone says.

"no"

russell walks forward with madi. "ok. you're their leader, so here's the deal. we're setting sail for planet beta. it's a 20 year journey. you can take it peacfully with us in cryo"

i turn to gaia and take off her handcuffs, "save madi. i'll take care of the rest. and make sure rory is ok" i mumble. 

"or you can die today, we'll give you an hour to decide" i push gaia forward and watch madi, gaia, and raven walk to the crowd, madi grabs her gag and takes it out. "jomp op!" madi yells. 'attack'

the crowd starts running towards us and the guards start shooting, my eyes widen and i watch my mothers body walk towards madi, i walk forward putting myself in front of the gun, "no one gives orders here but us" she smiles at me, i hit her in the head. "don't touch her!" clarke yells, i look at her with pain in my eyes. she falls to the floor and i sigh, i scoff and turn. "let them rot. come on we have things to do" i walk out of the mess hall.

we stop in the middle of one of the halls to talk, "devotion like that is dangerous. they obeyed her even though they know they would die" russell states, sounds familiar if you ask me.

"just wait, planet beta- russell we don't even know if it's survivable"

"if it isn't, we go for gamma, then delta, then epsilon. we won't even have to land to find out if it's survivable. assuming there are no other signal sucking anomalies, we can access the mind drive of the other teams wirelessly from up here" everyone goes silent, "come on. we were explorers once, weren't we?" no one talks, "russell i love you, and i will go with you across the stars and back, but you're right. that child is the problem" i roll my eyes. "oh for god's sake, she has the blood. in fact, dibs on her as my next host" 

"simone, if we kill their leader they will never follow us, and we need those people to serve us unless you plan on cleaning latrines" the body snatching, mother killing bitch sighs. "fine. then we kill her sleeping army because i promise you they are already talking about how to wake them. we brought enough mind wiping fluid to erase them all in their sleep, where they'll be perfectly preserved til one of us needs a new host" everyone sighs. still not saying anything.

"we'll never even have to know them" i side eye the woman next to me, miranda i think. i look down. i got to figure out how to get away, how i can kill them and save our people. "fine, but then it's on to beta. agreed?" russell says. everyone nods but me, "josie, what say you?"

i snap out of my trans and look at russell, "are you kidding? it's brilliant. a little genocide, a long nap. what the hell, let's be explorers" i say smiling. 

my smile fades as simone looks away from me.
