3 / FOREVER STUCK
you're still in my head✹
The morning light filtered through the tavern's window, soft and warm, stirring me from my sleep. But something felt off. As I tried to move, a weight pressed down on my stomach, keeping me in place. I blinked my eyes open and glanced down. There was an arm draped over me. My heart leapt in my chest as I followed the arm up to its owner-Meliodas.
His messy, golden blonde hair was tousled, falling over his face, and his bare chest was dangerously close to mine. He was sleeping so soundly, soft snores escaping his lips. My eyes widened in shock, realizing the position I was in. How did this even happen? His arm was slung across my stomach, and his body, nearly on top of me, made any kind of movement impossible.
Despite the realization, I couldn't help but stare at him. There was something about the way he slept, so serene and peaceful, that made my heart skip a beat. He looked so... different. The usual mischief in his eyes was replaced with a kind of vulnerability I hadn't seen before. My stomach fluttered, a sensation so foreign I almost gasped. What was this feeling? Why did he have this effect on me?
I inhaled softly, trying to steady myself. My hand moved on its own, fingers reaching toward his face, wanting to brush the blonde strands from his forehead. But I stopped just shy of touching him, clenching my fist and letting out a small sigh instead. What was I doing? I barely knew this man, and yet I felt this strange pull toward him, as if I'd known him forever.
I couldn't keep staring like this.
It was starting to get weird.
After a few more moments, I lifted my legs and shoved him off the bed with one swift motion. He tumbled to the floor with a thud, nearly dragging me down with him, but I managed to stay in place. The gasp that left his mouth made me laugh.
Meliodas' head shot up, eyes narrowing in confusion before they softened the moment he saw me. A playful smile tugged at his lips.
"What do you think you're doing?" I huffed dramatically, pointing an accusing finger at him.
"Sleeping?" he replied, raising a brow as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"In my bed?"
"It's technically my bed," he shot back, casually standing up and brushing himself off. My eyes flickered down to his chest, narrowing as I noticed something—a mark, barely visible.
"Hey!" I tried to scramble toward him, but he turned his back to me, walking away. "What's that on your chest?"
"What?" Meliodas chuckled, grabbing a shirt and slipping it on before I could see anything more. "Not sure what you mean."
"Why'd you put a shirt on?" I groaned, narrowing my eyes at him.
"You want my shirt off?" he teased, leaning down just enough to be at eye level with me.
