-"My birthday almost here."
"I'm aware, mama. You've been reminding me for the past three weeks." Neno huffed as we sat in the parking lot of Walmart in my car.
I had told my father that I was shopping since he had now decided to start tracking my iPhone. It was crazy the things that I had to say and lie to him about just so that I could live my life. But I had decided that once my birthday came around and I was officially an adult, I was done abiding by his rules.
I respected him enough to not bring Neno back to our house but that was about it. I was done lying to go on simple cute dates with my boyfriend. And I would just go to his house now. Despite his amount of siblings, they weren't bad.
"I keep reminding you because I'm excited. I told you all of the plans right?" I asked him.
"Yeah, but tell me again."
"I'm going to the tattoo shop the day of my birthday to get one in honor of my mommy on my forearm. Then, I wanna go out to get seafood. I'm also getting my hair done tomorrow so when you see me, I expect all the dramatics cause I'm finna look so good." I smiled.
I'm always extreme and over the top about my birthday but this year is extremely serious.
"How you getting your hair, mama?" He asked.
I rolled my eyes, "Neno, I've told you this millions of times already. Are you okay, bae?"
"Just tell me how you getting it." He huffed.
But now it seemed as if he had an attitude and I didn't like that whatsoever. It took all of my excitement away and made me not even want to tell him anymore.
"Nevermind." I crossed my arms.
"Dude, now you got an attitude with me?" He groaned loudly and grabbed my hands gently. "How you getting it baby, I'm tryna pay for it."
"I'm getting a sew in with curls. I don't need you to pay for it either."
"How much is it, Kacie? You finna piss me off today, I swear to God." He sighed and leaned back into his seat some.
I honestly just thought he was fine as hell when he's mad.
"Get pissy then. I never gave a fuck." I shrugged.
"Fine. I'll save my coins and spend em' on these shoes that I want. I never gave a fuck," He sucked his teeth and looked around. "You cool wit' me going to the tattoo shop with you?"
I perked up, "Yes! You should get one."
"I been wanting one for the longest I just never got it and I don't know why. Especially since everybody around here got they first one at fifteen. I feel out of place." He looked at his empty arms causing me to laugh.
"You can come with me. That's no problem," I smiled before thinking of the brightest idea. "Would it be dumb for us to get matching tattoos?"
"What you mean?"
He's acting slow tonight smh.
"Like, not each other's name or anything crazy. Just something cute and that's meaningful to the both of us." I stated as he just looked at me like I was crazy.
