Zoey p.o.v
“Marco?” I breathe out, it all felt like the time is slowed down as I raced to him. I didn't about the people around, I hugged him to myself tightly while I sob.
I cried because I was overjoyed, and I cried because he hugged me back as if he's life depends on it.
I had clung unto Marco tightly, too tight for someone who's recovering from a bullet wound. I has been carried away by my emotions that I didn't realize I might be hurting him.
I moved to pull back, but Marco's grip on me tightens.
“Don't.” Marco hoarse voice snapped. I have missed the sound of his voice, and body reaction to his voice. The vibration and goosebumps it brings to me. “Don't leave, stay with me.” He added, drawing me closer.
“Okay, I won't let go.” I whispered, my voice filled with sincerity, I relaxed against him savoring the moment.
To anyone listening to us, it might just be words of encouragement. But that was us expressing our emotions through words, and I promised to always stay with him.
Instinctively basked in the comfort and warmth the embrace provides.
We stay in each other's arms for what felt like forever, but was just a couple of minutes. Marco finally releases us, I pulled back enough for everyone to see him.
I took the opportunity to scan everyone present in the room, blush stain my cheeks as I saw everyone watching us intensely.
Some even had teasing smirk playing on their lips.
Mom? My mother?
She here?
“Mom!” I exclaimed, I jolt up and bolt to mom like lightening into her opened arms. I sighed relief to see her again safe and sound, it's been ages since I saw her last and can't deny the fact that I'm thrilled to see her even I'm still upset I am with her.
I've craved to have her arms around me, to feel her comforting presence.
“How is my baby girl doing.” Mom pats my head, I breathe in her familiar perfume, it had always help calm my nerves down.
“I missed you, mom.”
“I missed you too baby.” She kissed my head when we broke apart.
“Where have you been mom.” I asked.
“Marco took me to safer place.” she said referring to when I was day-time kidnapped. I know Marco took her to a safe place but where? Is she staying with dad now?
I decided not to push it further and allow the positive vibe flow.
I could feel the intensity of Marco's gaze, even though I feel warmth spread all over my body. I'm still slightly uncomfortable, he seems to have forgotten that Camila and Isabella were sitting right in front of him gushing over his recovery.
It was as if I were the only person in his world, the others in the room disappearing. I tried to avoid eye contact with him, staring at anything but him.
“Come here.” I heard him spoke, I locked gaze with him. Marco was staring right back at me, daring me to refuse him.
I silently shook my head in denial, begging him to drop it, but he boldly stood his ground.
“Come here Zoey.” This time he added my name, emphasizing that he's talking to me. His arms are wide open waiting to be wrapped around me, I burn in embarrassment, everyone now had their eyes on us.
“Go dear, he needs you.” Marco's Mom whispered to me, my mom pats my back in encouragement.
Marco's stare was unwavering, making it difficult to take more. He pulled me into his arms the second I draw near, losing his face to my neck.
“Mine! My woman.” He growled, progressively staking his claim on me, the vibration from the growl sending shivers down my spine to my Southern areas. I was tempted to stake my claim in him as well, but I resisted.
Deep down, I know he is my man, and the man who has captured my heart.

It's been a few days since Marco woke up, Luciano and Matthew are here as usual to report to Marco about what's happening in the company in his absence.
Like a daily report.
Luciano handling the legal businesses for now, Luca oversees the nightlife, the bars, casinos, clubs and strip clubs.
And on the other there is Matthew, been the brutal and ruthless one among the three, chooses to handle the underworld in the absence of Marco.
It's a whirlwind of information going on around here these past few days, even I wasn't paying attention to their discussions with Marco, I could still get a wind of some information.
It's a lot to take in, especially for someone in recovery. But Marco seems more energetic to get to work, if it wasn't his mom who insisted he stay in the hospital. Marco would have jumped his business the second he woke.
Since he regained consciousness, he had been barking out orders and calling the shots right from his hospital bed.
His mind is as sharp as a double edge sword, but his body is still healing, yet, he refused to acknowledge this fact.
I watched him bark orders at his men, his face contorted with frustration each time things didn't go his way. He growls at them for the slightest mistake, his temper has flared up like a wildfire that couldn't be tamed.
I understand his frustration, he doesn't like to be held down and that's taking a toil on him.
The door creaks open, a female nurse popped her head inside the room as if weighing the tension inside. Marco has been giving them though time, scaring ever nurse away.
She did a quick scan around before hesitatingly came inside.
“Good evening sir, I'm here for your check-up.” She stuttered, her voice wavers in fright, it's obvious how scared she is.
Marco's presence is intimidating enough, and now the glare he was shooting at her would have anyone running the other direction.
“Get out.” Marco hissed silently.
