Author's POV...
The Next Day...
Yoko groaned as she felt Sunny licking her face, urging her to get up. She finally sat up, squinting around the room with tired eyes. She had stayed up all night playing games and talking with Folk, who had called to check on her after a long time.
Yoko sighed heavily until she heard her mother's voice...
Mrs. Wang: "Sweetheart, wake up. It's already 11 in the morning. You need to eat something, and did you forget you need to cook something for Fay? He's waiting for you..."
Mrs. Wang gently took Yoko's arm, coaxing her to sit up as she was about to fall back asleep. Yoko immediately sat up straight when she remembered her cooking duty.
Yoko: "Mom! I don't want to cook... Please do something..." Yoko whined, pouting at her mother. Mrs. Wang chuckled and cupped her daughter's face gently.
Mrs. Wang: "I know, but it's better to cook than to live with him in Thailand. And I'm here to help," she said softly.
Yoko sighed, reluctantly nodding at her mother before heading to the shower.
Even though Mrs. Wang wanted her daughter to be happy, she knew it was better this way than to lose her forever.
...
As Yoko walked down the stairs and headed towards the kitchen, she paused when she saw Kun, Prince Fay, and Enghfa in the living area. Kun and Faye were seated opposite each other, reading the newspaper, while Enghfa struggled to maintain a professional demeanor as she read the news. Yoko laughed, catching Enghfa's eye.
Hearing Yoko's laughter, everyone looked up. Kun smiled and shook his head slightly before returning to his paper. Enghfa rubbed her head and playfully glared at Yoko, using the newspaper to cover her face.
Faye smirked at Yoko's giggles. She stood, folded the newspaper, set it aside, and walked towards Yoko. Seeing this, Yoko quickly made her way into the kitchen, with Fay following closely behind.
Inside the kitchen, Mrs. Wang was conversing with two maids. She stopped talking as soon as she saw Yoko and Faye enter. Faye immediately bowed, and Mrs. Wang nodded in return, acknowledging the Prince's presence.
As the maids moved to help Yoko, Fay intervened.
Faye: "I will help her," she said, causing everyone to exchange awkward glances.
Yoko felt increasingly uncomfortable with Faye's behavior. They had only met the day before, and Faye was already invading her personal space.
Faye: "I went out and bought the ingredients required for cooking the dish. You can use those," Faye said, pointing at the groceries she had brought.
Mrs. Wang, unsure of how to handle the situation, sighed and left the kitchen, leaving the maids to continue their tasks.
Yoko looked at Faye with a serious expression and sighed in frustration. She took out the ingredients Faye had bought and asked her to cut the vegetables. Faye complied without a word, diligently following Yoko's instructions.
Kun, standing just outside the kitchen, observed the scene.
Kun's Thoughts: Is this the same Prince who was rumored to murder and rape women? He's like a chameleon, changing shades according to the situation. Is he trying to get closer to Yoko? I need to be careful with this Prince; he's unlike the other Malisorns I've met...
Satisfied with his observation, Kun left the area as the maids continued their work in the kitchen.
