Episode 2: Rest Stop
Darius's Cabin
"Awe crud." Darius said. The raptor hiding from behind the trees roared and charged the two. Darius and Ben both rolled out of the way just in time.
Darius landed right next to his fence and saw the alarm was destroyed.
"What the..." Darius said
"Run!" Ben yelled pulling Darius.
Darius opened his car door and jumped into the driver's seat. Ben got into the passenger as the raptor with red eyes slammed its head into the passenger window.
"Go!" Ben yelled.
Darius reached into his pocket and gasped.
"I left my keys in the cabin." Darius said.
"Are you kidding me!?" Ben asked horrified.
The raptor slammed its head into the window cracking it.
"My vans just down the road!" Ben yelled. "Put it in neutral! We'll roll there."
Darius put his truck in neutral slowing rolling towards Ben's van.
The raptor slammed its head into the back window trying to get to Darius and Ben. Right as the car drove past Ben's van, they opened the doors and ran right towards the vehicle. Ben opened the passenger door and jumped into the driver's seat.
Darius jumped into the passenger seat just in time as the raptor barely missed Darius.
"Drive!" Darius yelled as Ben put the keys into the the van and drove away down the dirt road.
Darius and Ben both sighed in relief as they drove off. Suddenly, Ben gasped. In his rear-view mirror, the stripped raptor and the raptor with red eyes were still chasing them.
"Ben!" Darius yelled.
"I'm trying! This wasn't on the driver's test!" Ben yelled.
Ben drove down the hill off road, towards the main road.
Darius looked behind over his shoulders and saw the raptors hadn't followed them down hill. He sighed and rolled his window up. Ben cleared his throat gaining Darius's attention.
"What?" Darius asked. Ben glared at him. "It still doesn't prove we're being hunted."
"Darius..." Ben said.
"Those raptors could've been attracted to the lights!" Darius argued before looking down. "Except..."
"Except what?" Ben asked.
"Those... looked like Atrociraptors." Darius said. "But that doesn't make sense. They weren't on Patrick's list of dinosaurs that escaped to the mainland."
"See? Even more proof we're being hunted!" Ben exclaimed excited.
"I wouldn't call that proof." Darius said.
"So, you think it was a coincidence that your fence broke as they attacked?" Ben questioned.
"Who and why would be hunting us!?" Darius demanded.
"The League of Assassins!" Ben said.
Darius's eyes went wide.
"Ben, Ras Al Ghul has been dead for a year." Darius said.
