Chapter three - Possession

Viktor's eyes gleamed with satisfaction as he took my reluctant nod as compliance. His grip on my arm remained firm, a possessive hold that left no room for doubt about who was in control.

Everything had been so overwhelming that, I hadn't noticed where we were. We were on the Estate Viktor had promised, I looked up at the old castle, it was like something out of a book. I never thought about where vampires lived, selfishly I had only thought of escaping the mansion and seeing daylight through a meadow or field.

In an instant, like a flash I felt us move. Though I never took a step, we were in a dark and atmospheric bedroom.

The sudden shift in our surroundings left me disoriented. One moment, we stood outside the imposing castle, its gothic architecture casting long shadows in the moonlight; the next, we were in a room that seemed to exude an air of both opulence and menace. The walls were adorned with rich, dark tapestries, and the scent of aged wood and incense lingered in the air. Heavy velvet drapes framed tall windows, which allowed only slivers of moonlight to penetrate the room's otherwise darkened ambiance.

Viktor's grip on my arm loosened slightly, but he didn't let go. His eyes, still gleaming with that unsettling mixture of satisfaction and hunger, roamed over me as if assessing my readiness for whatever lay ahead.

"We need to wash you and make you ready to meet the Lord" He said as he grabbed the arm of my dress, attempting to take off my clothes.

"Hold on" I said trembling, "who are you really?"

Viktor paused, his grip on the fabric of my dress tightening for a split second before he released it. His eyes, which had been cold and calculating, softened just slightly, as if he were amused by my question.

"I am Viktor Dragomir, the youngest sired of the Dragomir family," he said, his voice smooth but carrying an undercurrent of pride "We don't have time for this though, get undressed and in the bath!"

My heart pounded in my chest as I stood there, frozen in a mixture of fear and defiance. Viktor's impatience was palpable, and I knew that any further resistance would only provoke him.

"Why do you need me?" I asked, my voice trembling but firm. "What am I really here for?"

Viktor's eyes narrowed, his amusement fading into a look of cold determination. "You ask too many questions, Rose," he said, his tone growing sharper. "You are here because of your bloodline. Your unique heritage makes you valuable to us. Now, do as I say."

He moved toward a large, ornate door on the opposite side of the room and pushed it open, revealing a lavish bathroom. The room was dominated by a large, claw-footed tub filled with steaming water. Candles flickered around the room, casting eerie shadows on the marble walls.

"Undress and get in," Viktor commanded, his voice leaving no room for argument.

I hesitated for a moment, my mind racing with thoughts of escape and defiance. But the reality of my situation pressed down on me, and I knew that I had little choice. With trembling hands, I began to unbutton my dress, my fingers fumbling with the delicate fabric.

As I undressed, Viktor watched me with an intensity that made my skin crawl. His gaze was both possessive and predatory. When I was finally free of my dress, I stepped into the tub, the hot water enveloping me in a soothing embrace.

Viktor approached the tub, his eyes never leaving mine. He reached for a small glass bottle on a nearby shelf and poured a fragrant oil into the water. The scent of lavender and something else—something darker and more intoxicating—filled the air.
