"What's it going to be?"
"I don't know."
"How can you not know?" Harry shot me a look of disbelief as he plopped on the bed. Currently, we were in Skylar's room with Sky on the beanbag, Harry on her bed, and me? I was pacing back and forth. The last time we were in this room was when Harry and I made Skylar wear the maid outfit. God, it seemed like that day was eons ago, even though it might've only been a month.
"I just don't, okay?" I said. "You can't expect me to whip up an answer to a life-changing question. Wait, it wasn't a question. It was a statement and now those three are waiting for an answer."
"And you're saying you don't have one?"
"I don't know, Sky."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
I didn't know that either. Since we returned from Sweden, all I could think about that evening in the gardens. The six of us sitting in a circle and the S-Rankers talking about the pact and their feelings. I hadn't gotten much time to ponder over their outright confession until I was on the flight.
They like me. All three of them. And as much as I knew they didn't want to reveal it like they were being held on gunpoint, they did.
And as much as they didn't want to drag me under the spotlight, they did that too.
Every day was a torture. Every time I had to be in the same classroom as them was torture. I knew they were waiting and I didn't want to make the wrong choice. I didn't want to end up choosing someone and regret it later on. Frankly, I adored all three of them. Chris and Ace had won my hearts since the moment I met them. They were kind, caring, flirtatious (mostly Chris), gentle (mostly Ace), etc. etc.
As for the other S-Ranker, I had grown to adore him overtime. Sure, we didn't get off on the right foot, but he had eventually grown on me. I started appreciating his bluntness and realized that he was secretly a softie underneath all those layers. It only took the right person to peel the layers and bring out the real him.
My phone pinged. I whipped it out and the screen flashed with a notification.
"You don't have to stress so much, Sunshine. I know you're competent enough to make the right choice. Just like the choices you made in our Lab exam."
I snorted which earned me a raised eyebrow from the Moore siblings. Wolf's timing couldn't have been more perfect. It was like he knew I was stressing to come to a decision. If someone had mentioned Wolf's caring persona to me at the beginning of the semester, I would've scoffed and walked out on the person without a second thought. But, months later, it wasn't surprising that Wolf genuinely cared about the people around him. He had a difficult time to express his emotions the right way most of the time, but he was getting better. That much was visible.
"Come on, Munchkin," Harry yawned, leaning against the headboard. It was getting late and he mentioned having an early morning tomorrow. "Are you going to make your choice tonight or do we wait until the Sun turns into a blackhole and swallows our planet?"
"I won't make you wait that long," I muttered under my breath. I needed time. I didn't know how long, but I hope I can decide by the end of the week.
"You have a week's time, Aurora," Skylar said. "Ace's leaving soon after graduation. He texted in the group chat saying he might be leaving the next morning. He's not sure of the details yet."
"He could delay it, couldn't he?" Harry asked as another yawn escaped his lips. "I mean, he does own a private jet. It's not like he needs to book a flight back home. He could return whenever he wishes."
