We engaged in small talk for the rest of the ride to the amusement park. We laughed, giggled, shared some common interests, and I happened to discover a significant aspect of Alexander St. Claire's life—the aspect that made me look at him in a completely different light.
"You're a Prince?" I asked with widened eyes and a dropped jaw. "Like, someone who belongs in an actual Royal family? That Prince?"
He chuckled at my question and nodded. "Yes, that Prince. I suppose no one mentioned this to you before, have they?"
I chuckled along with him and shook my head. A week ago when I first stepped onto the threshold of Skyline Academy, my instincts screamed immediately telling me I would never get used to this place and its people, and it's safe to say that they were right. Every day, I uncovered something new, something unconventional about the S-Rankers, and my best friends, about whom I thought I had known everything. All of this hit me like a truck one by one.
After this revelation, my mind instantly went back to Harry and my conversation about Chris. It was the first time he mentioned one of the S-Rankers being a part of the Royal family. Then the images of my first meeting with Ace in English Literature class flashed before my eyes. I distinctly remember having described him as someone who commanded the air wherever he went. He had a certain aura that drew people towards him. A lot of words could be used to describe Alexander St. Claire—sorry, my bad—Prince Alexander St. Claire, but the one word I always associated with him was—
—majestic.
"So, umm, tell me more."
"Very well," He smiled at me briefly before looking back at the road. The man had a gorgeous smile. Every time he smiled, my heart rate picked up ever so slightly. Unlike Chris's childlike smile, Ace's smile was made for the camera. It was perfectly picturesque. The way he carried himself—save his occasional nervousness—was full of confidence and pride.
Ace cleared his throat before taking a deep breath as if shifting into the personality of the Prince. His expressions were calm and collected, with no hint of nervousness.
"Allow me to re-introduce myself," He began with a smooth and charming voice that was enough to make anyone swoon. "I am Crowned Prince Alexander St. Claire of Sweden. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss Aurora Thatcher."
"Sweden?" I asked, my voice contained a hint of surprise. "You have a British accent, Ace. I assumed you were from England or something."
Ace chuckled. "Can't a man have a British accent without being British, miss?"
"It's Aurora–" I tried to correct him, but he cut me off with a smile.
"I know," He said, his personality shifting back to the one I was familiar with. "But I was acting like the Prince a few moments ago, and if I am to act like a Prince, I have to call you 'miss' or 'miss Aurora' or 'Miss Thatcher.' It's protocol."
