Beep.
The sudden notification on my phone made me grumble in my sleep. Ugh, what now? I warned Harry not to text me at three in the morning. Oh, well. Who am I kidding? He hadn't listened to a word I said before. Why would he decide to change overnight? With that thought in mind, I turned to grab my phone from my nightstand with an agitated look on my face. He was going to get seriously yelled at for ruining my sleep. Even God wouldn't be able to save him.
However, before I could start furiously typing a long paragraph, I noticed the text and my eyes instantly widened. Well, it wasn't the only thing that caused my eyes to widen.
It was seven in the morning.
That meant I only had an hour left for my first class!
Damn it.
I wanted to read the entire text, but I knew I didn't have much time. So I jumped out of my bed and sprinted to the bathroom. In about thirty minutes, I haphazardly dressed myself in a white shirt and a plain soft pink pinafore dress on top of it. White socks and pink shoes were next. I quickly glanced at the clock.
Fifteen more minutes till class.
With more than enough adrenaline pumping through my veins, I hastily finished up the final touches to my makeup and outfit before I swung my backpack across my shoulders and raced downstairs. I kept praying internally, wishing for a miracle.
And boy, did God listen to my prayers!
"Need a ride, bestie?" Skylar grinned as the window to her McLaren rolled down. I sighed in relief that my best friend came to my rescue exactly when I needed it. Without a second thought, I hopped onto the passenger seat and instantly fastened my seatbelts.
I gratefully smiled at the woman beside me. "You're a lifesaver, Skylar Moore."
She chuckled. "No need to thank me yet. You'll have plenty of opportunities to do so later on."
With that, she slammed hard on the accelerator and sped through the streets of the Academy.

"Class, today we will be studying..."
I tuned out the voice of the faculty as I stared at the text I received an hour ago. Only now did I get to read the entire message.
"Good morning, Cupcake. Hope you had a lovely sleep. Can't wait to see you today!"
Wink emoji.
"You're reading this now?"
Startled, I jumped in my seat as my head snapped toward the direction of the familiar voice. Luckily, I was sitting in the back, so the faculty wasn't paying much attention to what was going on here. The first benchers and some of the students in the middle benches did a great job at keeping him occupied.
