Y/N POV:
I look over to him, feeling Deku's gaze pierce the back of my head as I contemplate what Kat told me. I take a deep breathe, closing my eyes and counting back from 5 before looking up at Katsuki.
"You're right, I don't know that much about him- However, I know enough about him to allow me to trust him, and to care for him. So whatever you think you know, its wrong."
Katsuki sighs, his eyes meeting mine with a sombre look.
"Y/N- you don't understand, alright? He's.. He was.. you were never supposed to meet him. To know about him. To know he even existed. He was never supposed to be here."
"What the hell does that mean?"
"It means-"
Before he could continue, Deku walked up to us and snaked his arm around my waist, causing my cheeks to flush.
"Well, it was lovely to catch up with all these friends of yours, but we should get going should we not, Y/N?"
"R-right! Yes, we should go... I'll see you later Kat."
Katsuki stared at the arm around me before rolling his eyes and walking up to Deku.
"You better not lay a hand on her, De-... Izuku. Or I'll fucking kill you." He nudges his shoulder, causing him to lose balance, his arm slithering away as fast as it came.
We say our goodbye's to everyone and go on our way, Deku eager to leave them behind as soon as possible. His hand rests on my back, ushering me forward to keep me moving, totally oblivious to the reaction my cheeks are showing, or to the way my heart is rapidly, frantically beating to just his touch. Once we are far away enough, he lets out a shaky sigh. One filled with relief, exhaustion and... fear.
"Man am I glad we are away from them. Don't get me wrong, they seem..." he pauses for a moment, as if trying to find a word that won't offend me. "bearable- to an extent, but you have to admit that was suffocating." He smiles at me, slightly awkwardly as if he didn't know if he made sense or just pissed me off.
"Yeah, don't worry. I get what you mean." I laugh awkwardly, drawing out the inevitable awkward silence looming around the corner. Deciding to get there before that occurs, I bring up a silent thought that came to mind from earlier.
"So.... Izuku?"
"Yeah?" He answers, not fully acknowledging what I just said.
"Pfft.. Izuku?" I try again, hoping this time to nab his attention. His head snaps to the right and his gaze automatically syncs with mine, holding me captive. How can anyone function normally under a stare like that? He holds it for a second longer before shying away, and just for a moment I can see the internal battle brewing behind those emerald green eyes.
"I'm guessing that's also something I'm not supposed to know?" I say, gently trying to calm the storm that's within him.
"I'm sorry." He whispers, if that.
I smile at him and tell him its alright, however all these new found secrets just makes Kat's words play louder in my mind... what do I really know about him?
We continue walking ahead, the awkward silence making a reappearance, until he comes to an abrupt stop and looks up ahead. He puts an arm out to stop me walking, and I follow his gaze as to what has made him come to a complete standstill...
