Sometimes, people will blame you for things that you have no hand in or even are aware of. They will spread lies in the hope that someone will believe them and start to speak on their behalf. Sometimes, people don't need a reason to be too cruel to hurt others with their words. They do not care that their words were fabricated lies nor that it could cost someone their lives. Some people are so steadfast in their beliefs that they are not willing to change or correct their ways. Sometimes, to avoid a disaster, all you have to do is take a step back and ask yourself, is this really worth it losing my life over.

Is it really worth it to go after people you know nothing about and what they are capable of? To know your opponent. You have to know their weaknesses. What makes them tick. You have to know their fears and their shortcomings. If you wish to bring down your enemy. You should know his every move and, most importantly, when to strike. To strike him where it would hurt him the most. But sometimes people act on their emotions. They let their emotions control their decisions and actions. Lies are only spread by people who fear the ones that they had wronged and are unwilling to take responsibility for their actions.

Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian did not come back to hide themselves from those who had stepped upon them. Hurt them. Took from them without giving back. They did not prepare themselves for sixteen years and overcome their fears and weaknesses only to let these people keep on testing their patience, and yet they still thought.

'Maybe we should give them a change. People change right. They try to be better and do better. People forgive and move on. Nothing and no one can change the past. What happened happened, and nothing will change that. They will never get back what they had lost. The only thing they can do is be grateful for still having each other and their four precious children. A blessing which were bestow upon them. A blessing in the form of four beautiful and equally talented children.'

So two months later when they receive the invitation to attend the conference that will be held at lotus pier, Wei Wuxian was overly excited to show his children where he had grown up and share with them and his mate the many delicacies lotus pier market had to offer. After all, the people were never rude to him and indulged him ever so often. His life within the household of the Jiangs may not have been ideal or happy, but he did love them once and saw them as his family. A family he would do anything for even lay down his own life if it had come to that.

Maybe just maybe this week will bring upon many changes who knows, and just maybe things would be different than it was with the hunt. Wei Wuxian tried not to think about the Madame of Lotus Pier and how she would receive them. But he would like to think that she would restrain herself see as she is so high on not losing the sect face or bring shame to the sect, but he is not having high hopes for that to happen. After all, she and her son were humiliated during the hunt, something that would not easily be forgotten. Not by her or her son.

They arrived at the lotus pier with time to spare. Wei Wuxian eyes gleamed with excitement and nostalgia as he looked around the market as his mates hand rested protectively on his back.

"Well, what do you all think?."

He asked with excitement in his voice and on his face as he looked at his mate and children. Who looks at him with amuse eyes and smiles.

"It's loud."

They all said in unison, and Wei Wuxian started laughing at their answer.

"Of course it's loud. How do you think the vendors must sell their goods. Come, let's have a taste of all the sweet delicacies. I promise you all will enjoy it."

He said as he steered his family towards the stalls. Many of the vendors remembered him and asked him how he was, and he proudly introduced his mates and children to them. That brought on many congratulations and cooes as they looked Lan Wangji and the children. Wei Wuxian dragged them from one stall to the other, and they indulged their mate and Baba as he ran like an excited child, telling them about every delicacies laid out on the tables of the stalls.
